A professional handicapper and bettor for more than three decades, Michael Dempsey knows the racing industry from the backstretch to the finish line.

Michael was a partner in the Hampshire Racing Partnership for six years, racing thoroughbreds throughout the Mid Atlantic region, and created the Winners Circle Handicapping Syndicate, a group devoted to hitting the big carryover pools and the Breeders' Cup Pick 6.

Michael is a freelance writer and full time professional handicapper and horseplayer, and previously was one of the top handicappers for TrackMaster/Equibase for over a decade, consistently picking winners for a loyal base of customers.

In 1999, Michael left his handicapping position at TrackMaster/Equibase to create Turf ‘n’ Sport. Since then, horseplayers around the world have stopped by Turf’ n’ Sport for Michael's full-card analysis and selections, and for his opinions on anything and everything to do with horse racing, sports, and gambling.

Michael covers the major racing circuits including Keeneland, Belmont Park, Saratoga, Aqueduct, Churchill Downs, and Gulfstream Park, as well as the biggest events in racing, the Triple Crown races and the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships.
