PACQUIAO NOTES
- Pacquiao's only loss in a world championship bout was a third-round KO suffered against Medgoen Singsurat back in September of 1999.
- If you want to count his IBO title at 140 pounds, you can say that Pacquiao has held world titles in five different weight divisions: Flyweight (112 pounds), Jr. Featherweight (122), Jr. Lightweight (130), Lightweight (135), Junior Welterweight (140) and Welterweight (147). In retrospect, the argument can be made that he may have won also at Jr. Bantamweight, Bantamweight and Featherweight as well if he had caught the right champion at the right time in those weight classes, or if he hadn't skipped them entirely.
- Pacquiao's first recorded weight was 106 pounds, at his pro debut in 1995. His last weight was also his heaviest, 144 pounds against Miguel Angel Cotto.
- Pacquiao has fought twice in the state of Texas before. First he stopped Marco Antonio Barrera in eleven rounds at the Alamodome on Novgember 15, 2003, then he knocked out Jorge Solis in eight rounds at the same location on April 14, 2007.
- In the last 36 months, Pacquiao has fought seven times. Over the last 12 months, he has fought twice.
- Of Pacquiao's 38 knockout wins, 23 of them (60.5%) have taken place in the first four rounds. Only five of them (13.2%) happened between rounds 9-12. Saturday's bout is scheduled for 12 rounds.
CLOTTEY NOTES
- Before his November 2003 bout with Jeffrey Hill in New York, Clottey had never fought in the United States. Since then, he has never fought OUTSIDE the United States.
- Of Clottey's 20 knockout wins, nine of them (or 45%) have taken place within the first two rounds. he has only stopped one fighter beyond the sixth round.
- Clottey started his career at 139 pounds. The heaviest he has been is 154 pounds, where he fought Ayitey Powers in 2002 and Marcos Primera in December of 2005, when he won the WBC Continental Americas junior middleweight (or super welterweight) title.
- Clottey has fought six times within the last three years, and only once in the last 19 months.
- Clottey has had 14 fights in the U.S., but never in Texas. He has fought five times in Nevada, five times in New York, twice in New Jersey, once in Missouri and once in California.
- Clottey has fought five times against opponents who have been world champions at one time or another. By contrast, Pacquiao's last ten fights have come against world champions.
