Cricket Preview - Sub Continent to Dominate 2011 World Cup

BetUS Sportsbook is already offering futures online betting on the 2011 Cricket World Cup and much like the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup, there is plenty of value in the market.

That’s of course if you think you can pick a winner two years out from a tournament to be hosted by three South East Asian countries of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

I guess that’s why India (+250) has slipped into early favourites tag.

As most of the cricketing world knows, beating India on the sub continent is nigh impossible with the conditions and the crowds suiting their style of play.

But it is yet to be seen just how Twenty20 cricket will impact on the 50-over version of the sport and whether or not it will even out the field so to speak at the World Cup.

Only time will tell but if you have a lazy couple of bucks lying around, you could always slip some of it onto Australia (+400) the reigning world champions.

Australia have not lost a match at the World Cup since May 1999, a 29-game winning streak that has lead them to winning the Cup in the past three tournaments.

Sri Lanka (+500) also offers good money as does South Africa (+600) and Pakistan (+700) however after that, things look pretty bleak.

England for instance are at +900 which although good value, they will need to work hard in the coming seasons if they are any chance of winning on the sub continent as will New Zealand (+1200) and the West Indies (+1400).
