IPL 2009 – Delhi Daredevils to Maintain Dominance at TopTHE Delhi Daredevils (-150) are almost unbackable favourites in IPL betting in today’s match against the Deccan Chargers (+110) at Durban and for good reason.
In their last match on April 30 Delhi (P9/W7/L2), who sit alone at the top of the Indian Premier League competition table, easily accounted for currently third placed Deccan (P10/W6/L4) by six wickets in a controlled display with both bat and ball.
Delhi Aussie opening quick Dirk Nannes (2/16) and Ashish Nera (2/30) were impressive with the pill in not only removing the openers early but then setting a platform for the other bowlers to remove the ever dangerous Azharuddin Bilakhia (22) and Tirumalsetti Suman (23) after they made starts.
Dwayne Smith was the only shining star for Deccan scoring 48 off 28 balls.
The target of 149 was made all the more difficult for Delhi when they removed the scintillating top order of Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir to have them reeling at 2/35 when AB De Villiers fell at 3/49, an upset victory by Deccan looked imminent.
But Tillakaratne Dilshan (52no off 46 balls) and Karthik (41 off 30 balls) held the team together and got home with six wickets and 10 balls to spare.
Shoaib Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers, taking 2/20 in his four overs.
The nine wicket demolition of Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 31.
Our tip is for Delhi to ease past Deccan in this match.
