IPL 2009 - Delhi Gathers Momentum for Semis

THE BetUS Sportsbook is giving the Mumbai Indians (+100) little chance of upsetting the table topping Delhi Daredevils (-140) in their last matches of the Indian Premier League regular tournament.
Delhi (P13/W9/L4) has secured the top place in the second IPL tournament but will be looking to usurp their authority in the competition with a solid win heading into the semi-finals.
Mumbai (P13/W5/L7/NR1) on the other hand have done their dash and have been left rueing two late tournament losses plus their earlier no-result wash out which secured them just one point.
After such a promising performance midway through, many IPL betting punters had high hopes for Mumbai but the likes of Sanath Jayasuria and captain Sachin Tendulkar along with Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh failed to fire.
Delhi has had similar late tournament hiccups but has managed to still gather momentum and will be too hard to beat.
Expect AB de Villiers and captain Virender Sehwag to star for Delhi.
Deccan’s Charge May be Over
While Bangalore Royal Challengers (-110) have hit their straps in the last part of the season, the Deccan Chargers’ (-130) early season form has slipped dramatically in the business end of the season.
Put simply, both teams need a win, not to make the semis but to work out which team will be placed higher on the ladder.
The winner of today’s match will thereby avert playing competition leading Delhi in the first of the semi-finals.
Bangalore (P13/W7/L6) caused an upset victory over Delhi just two days ago so are high on confidence while Deccan (P13/W7/L6) have last two out of their last three matches and are lucky that they blitzed the tournament early with a string of wins.
Our tip is for Bangalore to continue on their merry way and follow the cricket odds and defeat Deccan.
Look to another big performance from Bangalore’s all-rounder and South African superstar Jacques Kallis to star in today’s victory.
