IPL 2009 - Delhi to Triumph over Deccan

DELHI Daredevils have the wood over the Deccan Chargers in their previous encounters in the IPL and one suspects that this game will follow a similar outcome.
Not only has Delhi been a favourite for the IPL cricket betting fraternity but they have very rarely failed to find their mark on the pitch which is why it should be a safe bet for punters to take Delhi in the first of the semi finals.
Their first clash ended with a six wicket win to Delhi on April 30 and they met about a week ago with Delhi again coming out on top.
In both matches the games were won by Delhi batsmen and this is where they will again triumph over Deccan.
If it wasn’t for the likes of AB de Villiers’ 439 runs at 54.87, it is fair to argue that they may not have reached the lofty heights of number one team in this year’s competition however a cursory look deeper into the batting line up shows they are no one-trick pony team.
Tillakaratne Dilshan’s 353 runs this tournament have come at a blistering strike rate of 121.7 and other batsmen have stood up when needed, like ‘keeper Dinesh Karthik.
But it is at the top of the order that Delhi have failed to dominate their opposition however their last win over Mumbai Indians provided Delhi with the most positive sign heading into today’s semi final, that of Gautam Gambhir and captain Virender Sehwag.
After Gambhir and Aussie David Warner raced to a 36 in just 3.3 overs, his wicket brought Sehwag and Gambhir together and put on a 68-run stand.
Gambhir made 47 off 38 balls (eight fours) and Sehwag (50, 27 balls, five fours, two sixes) showed that they are a force to be reckoned with and our tip is to jump on BetUS.com Sportsbook and back Delhi to beat Deccan.
