IPL 2009 - Crunch Match in Double-Header

Kings XI Punjab (+110) have it all ahead of them in today’s second match of the double-header fixture against Chennai Super Kings (-150) .

Kings (P13/W7/L6), who are on 14 points and sit in fourth spot on run rate, not only have to win today’s match but they then must have results go their way if they are to secure a semi-final spot.

No team wants to be in a position whereby they have to rely on other teams to lose to make a semi-final berth but that just goes to show how close this year’s tournament has been.

Chennai (P13/W7/L5/NR1), who are in outright second on 15 points, also need the win to make sure of their spot come finals time which makes this a tantalising match for the punters with some good online betting options available at BetUS.com.

Kings have been on a strong winning streak late in the competition thanks to standout performances from the likes of Twenty20 heroes Kumar Sangakkara, captain Yuvraj Singh.

Chennai on the other hand suffered the ignominy of losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders, a loss that gave Kolkata jut their second win of the tournament.

The hiccup at the wrong end of the season might have given the players a big fright, especially their bowlers who were unable to contain a batting line up that routinely failed throughout the tournament yet managed to chase down the imposing total of 188 for the loss of just three wickets with Brendon McCullum finally firing (81 off 48 balls).

Our tip is for Chennai to come out on top.
