Golf Odds - Woods Back For AT and T National

Bookmark and Share by Adam Eve

Tiger Woods will return to action this week for the AT&T National at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland in a tournament hosted by none other than himself.

Woods’ AT&T National replaces The International on the PGA Tour’s schedule this season, but ditches the trademark Stableford scoring system. And Tiger was able to attract a marquee field for the event – world No. 2 Phil Mickelson, world No. 3 Jim Furyk, world No. 4 Adam Scott, and world No. 6 Vijah Singh are all ready to participate.

So who’s the favorite for this event’s inaugural outing? It’s Woods, of course. Tiger skipped the Buick Open last week to spend time with his wife and new daughter, but he’ll be pressing to win his own tournament this week; he’s pegged as the +275 favorite.

Next on the current BetUS.com odds list for the tourney is Furyk, who’s listed at +1100, while Mickelson is third at +1200 odds right now. Singh is sitting at +1500 odds, with Scott at +2000 odds, and Justin Rose pegged at +2200 odds. Geoff Ogilvy, currently No. 8 in the world, is at +3500 odds.

Here are the rest of the top contenders:

  • Tiger Woods +275
  • Jim Furyk +1100
  • Phil Mickelson +1200
  • Vijay Singh +1500
  • Adam Scott +2000

  • Brandt Snedeker +6000
  • Bubba Watson +6000

Meanwhile, Padraig Harrington is listed as the +1100 favorite overseas at the Smurfit European Open at the K Club in Straffan, Ireland this week. 2007 U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera is next at +1200 odds, where he’s tied with Paul Casey. Niclas Fasth is currently sitting at +1600 odds for the event, Bradley Dredge is at +2000, Richard Green is at +2200, and defending tournament champ Stephen Dodd is back at +10000 odds.

After competing in the AT&T National, the golfers of the PGA Tour will head to TPC Deere Run in Illinois for next week’s British Open Championship, will then take centre stage at Carnoustie on July 19-22. Woods is currently listed as the +200 fave to win this year’s British Open Championship.
