Southern California keeps on getting pounded by record rainfall, and thanks to soggy grass and submerged fairways, the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship will be delayed a full day, with first round matches played Thursday. This is the second consecutive year that rain has wiped out opening day for this $7.5 million event. Forecasters predict mostly sunny skies by Thursday, giving the state a much needed dry spell.
