I don't know about you, but I don't have a great feeling about the American Ryder Cup team. They have lost most of the recent matchups and the players don't exactly treat it like a major. Do you think Tiger Woods really cares if he loses this event on the last hole as much as if it was for the green jacket or for the U.S. Open? I didn't think so.
The truth is, while this event may be great to watch and bet on, the players don't really care all that much. American golf has been subpar compared to the Europeans lately (except for Tiger) and the effort and passion for the Ryder Cup just isn't there in my opinion.
Personally, I would rather scrap this thing and see another major added to the schedule. I'm sure the rest of the golf fans/bettors and players would rather this idea anyway. But it won't happen. So here's hoping this week's Ryder Cup action displays a little more passion than in previous years.
