Oosthuizen is Third Golf Sportsbook Betting Choice to Win the Omega Masters

British Open champ Louis Oosthuizen is the third choice in the golf sportsbook to win this week’s Omega European Masters, the European Tour’s event.
Oosthuizen is listed at +2000 in the sportsbook to beat favored Francisco Molinari at +1200 and co-favorites Miguel Angel-Jimenez and Charl Schwartzel at +1500. Can Louis do it? Or, will one of the other faves or an underdog take home the Omega European Masters trophy?

To Win
Best Bet A: Charl Schwartzel +1500
It’s tough for me to look past Schwartzel to win this week’s Omega European Masters because, overall, he’s been playing very well lately. He did finish 58th at the WGC-Bridgestone but he followed that up with an 18th at the PGA Championship. Schwartzel finished 14th at the British Open before the WGC-Bridgestone finish. Charl also finished 6th at last year’s Omega European Masters when shooting a 13 under. He probably would have won if he hadn’t shot a 71 final round. In any case, Schwartzel is going off at overlaid odds in the golf sportsbook to win this week. I’m not looking past him.
Best Bet B: Miguel Angel Jimenez +1500
You gotta love Miguel! The man followed up his 99th place finish in the PGA Championship with a 7th at the Czech Open and a 3rd at the Johnnie Walker Championship. When something’s wrong with his game, Miguel goes out there and fixes it. That takes dedication. I believe that Miguel’s dedication could lead him to an Omega European Masters victory this week. It also helps that he finished 4th in this tournament in 2009.
Worst Golf Bet: None
The favorite to win this week’s European Tour Event is Edoardo Molinari at +1200. Those are double-digit odds. So, if you like anybody this week to win at Crans-sur-Sierre, you’re getting fair odds on him.
Best Underdog Bet: Thongchai Jaidee +4500
My fellow Thai (I’m half, Thongchai is full) is coming off of some horrible finishes, an 82nd at the Open de France, a 127th at the British Open and an 88th at the PGA Championship, but I believe he can turn his game around this week. He finished 4th at the Omega European Masters in 2009 when shooting 65, 71, 67 and 67 for a -14. The man can flat out golf and the +4500 in the golf sportsbook means that I’ve got to at least consider backing him, right?
Others To Consider
Edoardo Molinari +1200 - - He’s coming off of a victory at the Johnnie Walker Championship and finished a respectable 14th at last year’s Omega European Masters.
Lee Oosthuizen +2000 - - Before the 73rd at the PGA Championship, Shrek Oosthuizen had won the British Open, finished 4th at the Scandinavian Masters and 9th at the WGC-Bridgestone.
Simon Dyson +2000 - - Dyson shot a -12 and finished 7th at Crans-sur-Sierre in 2009 and is coming off of a 5th at the Czech Open and a 6th at the Johnnie Walker Championship.
