This week the PGA Tour travels to Palm Beach, Florida for the best golfers in the world will try their best to win the winner’s share of the $5,600,000 purse.

For BetUS online sportsbook betting fans, sometimes the best wager isn’t always on a golfer to win.  By concentrating some of their betting dollars on picking the winner of an individual match-up, gamblers can make profits without having to bet on a long shot.

Let’s analyze the best tournament match-ups in the Honda Classic.

Golf:  Honda Classic Tournament Match-Ups

  1. Ernie Els +105 vs. Sergio Garcia -135 - - Garcia didn’t do that well in the WGC Accenture Match Play Tournament last week, but this week he looks to really step his game up.  Els will need to play a perfect game to get close to Sergio who should be hitting the greens with regularity in the Honda Classic.  I see Garcia winning this match-up easily

Pick:  Sergio Garcia at -135 in the sportsbook

  1. Boo Weekley -105 vs. Stuart Cink -125 - - Cink played extremely well in the WGC last week.  Can he carry it over to this week against a top notch opponent in Boo Weekley?  Even though Cink is the favorite, I see him as vulnerable in this spot mainly because he did do so well in last week’s tournament.  Weekley is the logical choice because of the odds in this match-up.

Pick:  Boo Weekley at -105 in the sportsbook.

  1. Camilo Villegas -110 vs. Sergio Garcia -120 - - Garcia is the slight favorite in this match-up but Villegas can be just as good as anybody on any given day.  If Sergio isn’t on his game, then this is the upset match-up bet to make, not Els.  I like Villegas because I believe he might have a terrific tournament.  If he does, then he should easily beat Garcia in a head to head match-up.

    Pick:
Camilo Villegas at -110 in the sportsbook.

  1. Stewart Cink -130 vs. Justin Leonard Ev - - This is an excellent match-up in which to take the long shot.  Leonard has as much talent as any golfer on the tour, when he’s right, and Cink had his great tournament last week.  Cink shouldn’t be nearly as formidable in this.  That means Leonard is the pick in this match-up.

Pick:  Justin Leonard at Ev in the sportsbook.

  1. Rory McIlroy -110 vs. Robert Allenby -120 - - Allenby should easily take down McIlroy in this head to head match-up because usually he’s better than McIlroy.  McIlroy has a shot, no doubt, but Allenby just looks like the winner in this match-up.  Putting up the extra 10 bucks can be annoying but this could be an easy score for gamblers.

Pick:  Robert Allenby at -120 in the sportsbook.

  1. Angel Cabrera -110 vs. Carl Pettersson -120 - - Pettersson in the slight favorite in this match-up but to me Cabrera looks like the bet if only because he has been playing slightly better than Pettersson.  Pettersson is a tough golfer but when Cabrera is on, he’s awfully tough to beat.  I’ll be making a bet on Cabrera in this match-up.

    Pick:
Angel Cabrera at -110 in the sportsbook.
