Betting on the Buick Open - Odds to Finish Top 10

There are no sure things in golf. Just ask BetUS online sportsbook fans that put money on Tiger Woods to finish in the Top 10 at the British Open a couple of weeks ago.
Tiger didn’t even make the cut. He probably won’t have issues getting into the Top 10 at the Buick Open this week, but that doesn’t mean he’s the best bet to get into the Top 10 in the sportsbook.
Let’s take a look at some of the golfers with a great chance to get into the Top 10 in this week’s Buick Open.
Golf: Buick Open Top 10
Tee-off: 7/30/2009
1. Woody Austin +250 - - Only two Top 10 finishes this year isn’t great, but two straight 2nd place finishes at this tournament makes Woody the go to guy in this golf betting category at the odds.
2. Jim Furyk -110 - - Furyk has 7 top ten finishes this year and knows this tournament well. Furyk might not win this tournament but it should be very hard to keep him out of the Top 10 as he’s simply the most consistent golfer on the PGA Tour right now. He’ll play up to keep himself in contention and won’t hurt himself with stupid shots.
3. Tiger Woods -1000 - - The golf betting odds are just too low to bet Tiger. At least, that’s what I believe, but the stats are impressive: two victories in this tournament in the past five years and eight Top 10 finishes out of ten tournaments this year.
4. Kevin Na +400 - - Na hasn’t excelled on this course in recent years but he has 7 top ten finishes this year. Of course, he’s missed the cut in 7 tournaments as well, but, hey, if he makes the cut, he’s a good bet in this category.
5. Scott Verplank +200 - - Three straight Top 10 finishes in the Traveler’s Championship, John Deere Classic and RBC Canadian Open means that Verplank is a great bet in this category.
6. Jonathan Byrd +650 - - Byrd only has two Top 10 finishes in 2009 but his short game will be perfect for this course and a bounce back from the RBC Canadian Open, where he finished 64th, could be in the cards.
Best Long Shot
Daniel Chopra +600 - - Chopra only has two top 10 finishes this year, like Byrd, but he hasn’t missed a cut in about a month and might be ready to cut down on his per round bogey average. If he does, then a Top 10 finish isn’t out of the question.
