Betting on the Masters - Finishing in the Top 10

One way to try and ensure a winning bet is to take lower odds and increase the chances of winning. By making a wager on a golfer to finish in the Top Ten in a tournament, BetUS online sportsbook betting fans are trying to get the best of both worlds - - profits and low chance of failure.
When it comes to the golf odds. But bettors shouldn’t discount their chances just because of that.
Let’s analyze the top six betting interests to finish in the top ten in this year’s Masters Tournament.
Golf: Masters Top Ten
- Phil Mickelson -155 - - Mickelson is the top pick to finish in the top ten in the 2009 Masters. The difference between Phil and Tiger is odds. Well, odds and the fact that Wood is coming off of an injury. Mickelson didn’t make the cut in last week’s Shell Houston Open but in 7 events this year, Mickelson has finished in the top ten 3 times. Not only that but at Augusta, Lefty has finished in the top ten in 11 out of 16 starts. That’s amazing. He’s the best golfer to make a wager on to finish in the top ten because he’s got the best chance to do it.
- Padraig Harrington +145 - - Harrington has only finished in the top ten in the Masters 3 out of 9 times, but 2 of those times occurred in 2007 and 2008. Padraig Harrington has finally realized that saving his “A” game for the Majors is the way to become a star on the PGA Tour. Because he won both the PGA Championship and the British Open in 2008, there’s no denying that Harrington should be ready to pummel the long Augusta fairways this week. He’s a solid bet.
- Retief Goosen +180 - - Goosen didn’t make my personal cut for the top four to win the 2009 Masters but he’s an absolutely solid bet to finish in the top ten. Goosen finished 3rd, 3rd and 2nd in 2005 through 2007 at Augusta before finishing 17th in 2008. He’s already won a tournament this year. So, I expect him to finish in the top ten at Augusta again.
- Paul Casey +200 - - Casey is an excellent bet at +2500 in the Sportsbook to win. So, why not bet him to finish in the top ten? The odds are good and Casey is hot after having won the Shell Houston Open last week. Casey does have history of finishing in the top ten at the Masters. He finished 6th in 2004 and 10th in 2007. In 2008 he finished 11th. Casey should be a strong consideration for a wager in this.
- Tiger Woods -700 - - I’m chilly on Tiger breaking into the top ten at -700 because I just don’t know how the knee really feels. Tiger did look good in the Arnold Palmer but Augusta is a grueling walk and Woods might find himself struggling on Sunday. A top ten finish is likely, and he does make my top six betting interests, but my money will have to go to Mickelson at -155 and Harrington at +145 before it goes to Woods at -700 in this category. Still, I won’t knock anybody backing El Tigre in this category, even at -700, because he’s finished in the top ten in 9 out of 14 starts at Augusta.
- Trevor Immelman +600 - - Immelman is having a down year or else he wouldn’t be at 6 to 1 to just finish in the top ten at Augusta this week. Last year, of course, Immelman actually won the green jacket. But in 2007 he finished tied for 55th place. So, we can’t put too much stock into the 2008 victory. Then again, maybe he adjusted his game in 2008 and knows this course. If that’s the case, the 6 to 1 odds make Immelman an overlay in this category.
