Golf's Best Bet - Odds to Finish in Top 10

This is how difficult it is to win at golf. Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh and Padraig Harrington skip last week’s BetUS sportsbook: Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia or Camilo Villegas, take down the top prize.
That’s how difficult it is even for the best golfers to win a tournament which is why sometimes it’s a good idea for golfing fans to just concentrate on betting a golfer to finish in the Top Ten.
Let’s analyze the chances of some golfers to finish in the Top Ten in the WGC-CA Championship at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Tampa, Florida.
Golf: WGC-CA Top Ten
1. Tiger Woods -400 - - Tiger is going off at extremely low odds to finish in the top ten in only his second tournament back from the knee injury. The odds are almost too low for me to even consider a wager. But this is Tiger and there’s no doubt that he will improve off of his showing in the WGC-Accenture two weeks ago. He’s a solid bet because of his name but the odds are still awfully low.
2. Geoff Ogilvy +110 - - Ogilivy won this tournament last year, already has two wins out of five events this year and has made the cut in all five of those events. He’s a definite player to finish in the top ten.
3. Anthony Kim +225 - - Out of only three events, Kim has a top ten finish and has made the cut twice. He’s going off at over 2 to 1 odds to finish in the top ten in the WGC-CA. Those are good odds for a player of Kim’s stature.
4. Kenny Perry +550 - - The odds on Perry has to make golf betting fans happy. I mean, out of six tournaments Perry has played in so far this season, he’s finished in the top ten in three of them. That means the over 5 to 1 odds are extremely generous. He’s a must consideration to finish in the top ten in this.
5. Jim Furyk +275 - - Furyk has only teed off in three tournaments so far this season, but he’s already got a top ten finish to show for it. Furyk wouldn’t be a bad play at both the nice odds, and the fact that he’s as consistent as any golfer on the tour.
6. Mike Weir +550 - - Like Perry, the Canadian Weir isn’t getting any love at odds of over 5 to 1 to finish in the top ten in the WGC-CA. But look at his record! Out of 5 events he already has 2 top ten finishes. That’s 40%. Over 5 to 1 with a 40% chance of hitting it? Yeah, I like those odds.
Best Long Shots
DJ Trahan +800 - - 8 to 1 on a guy who has finished in the top ten in 2 out of 6 tournaments? Those odds are terrific on Trahan who definitely has a chance in the WGC-CA.
Justin Leonard +800 - - Like Trahan, Leonard has 2 top ten finishes out of 6 tournaments so far this season. He’s another golfer with a better chance than his odds would indicate to finish in the top ten.
