March Madness Preview: South Brackets Players to Watch
by Mike Rose

The South bracket looks to be the least loaded of the field, but that only means you should expect the unexpected even more when March Madness betting with these players.
LaceDarius Dunn (Baylor Bears) : There isn't any player in this tournament that knocked down more three pointers in the regular season than Dunn did with 105. Shooting from beyond the arc often determines the winners and losers of big games. Dunn is a man that can make a difference in close games for Baylor, and his 19.4 points per game could pay dividends for the Bears in a deep betting run through the NCAA Tournament.
Kyle Singler (Duke Blue Devils) : Singler, combined with Gs Jon Scheyer and Nolan Smith, are the best scoring options that Coach K has with the Dookies. He has scored at least 18 points in four straight games, which has raised his average up to 17.3 points per game. As proven in the ACC Championship against Georgia Tech, even when things aren't going well from the field (3/15), he can still generate points (14/16 from the free throw line). If the Blue Devils are making it back to the Final Four, Singler will be the man that has to step up for the Dookies.
Ronald Moore (Siena Saints) : The Saints are a team with all sorts of NCAA Tournament experience that absolutely no one wanted to see in their draw. Moore is the top assist man in the country at 7.8 per game, and he's also capable of knocking down the big shot when it counts. He's the leader of a very veteran squad that has its sights set on the Sweet 16 this year. Up first is a March Madness duel with Purdue.

Omar Samhan (St. Mary's Gaels) : Samhan is one of the few players in the nation that is averaging a double-double, and he's clearly going to be one of the most feared big men in this tournament. He had a relatively quiet West Coast Conference Tournament, scoring just 27 points and bringing in 20 boards against Portland and Gonzaga combined. Still, he's going to be a nightmarish matchup for the Richmond Spiders to deal with. Look for the Gaels to be very, very dangerous in this tournament if Samhan can dominate in the paint.
Scottie Reynolds (Villanova Wildcats) : Reynolds was really the difference maker in last year's betting run to the Final Four for Villanova. Now, he's the team's leading scorer at 18.5 points per game in this, his senior season. HC Jay Wright's club hasn't played great ball down the stretch, but this is a team that can still run up and down the floor with the best of them. Reynolds is the catalyst for that offense.
Samardo Samuels (Louisville Cardinals) : Samuels hasn't played all that well since dropping 36 points on the Irish on February 17th, but he still has the ability to light up any team he faces. He has a ton of tournament experience as well, being a key cog in the deep run into the '09 March Madness betting proceedings. Samuels is gonna have to average more than the 15.4 points per game he has this year now that he is "the man" for HC Rick Pitino's squad to turn to.
