My March Madness Bracket: Syracuse will win it all
by Al Simmons

March Madness is here and the bracketology studies are over. If you watched college basketball all season, then you know which are the better teams. But if you didn’t, then don’t worry because I will you give you some inside tips.
I have already made my full bracket predictions. I picked my Final Four to be Kansas facing Syracuse, as both of my Number 1 picks advance all the way to the semifinals. But I also picked Marquette and Texas A&M to be facing each other on the other side as my top upsets.
Both Duke and Kentucky, seeded as Number 1s, are great teams, but neither has what it takes to go all the way.
In my opinion, Duke is going to be upset by Louisville, as the ACC seems weaker to me than the other conferences. Rick Pitino and his guys already upset Syracuse Orange twice this season although they had been on and off this year. But whenever a great team is facing them, they usually deliver a great game.
Kentucky, on the other side, is a better team than Duke, but I’m not putting three Number 1 teams in the Final Four. And to be honest, there’s no way I’m leaving Cuse or KU out of the Big Dance. Also, I just really want to see them play each other.
I believe that the Big East is the strongest conference this season. Marquette will benefit from the development of the bracket and will end up shocking a very young and inexperienced Kentucky team in the Elite Eight.
I like the fact that the Golden Eagles have three potential high scorers on the team that could put up points week in and week out.
In the end, I have the Orange winning it all over Marquette; I know you may think that Syracuse is weaker now due to the injury of center Arinze Onuaku, but to me depth is overrated in March Madness. You need great stars and an experienced coach, and Syracuse has both.
