College basketball betting fanatics that are gearing for the start of the 2010 NCAAB Championship Tournament had better be prepared for the plethora of rim-rocking, bracket-busting matchups that the Western Conference looks like it will produce this year.

With that thought in mind, let’s get started with this look at the entertaining matchups in the West Bracket. First, let’s start with the top four seeds.

1 Syracuse (28-4 SU, 19-9 ATS, 11-12-1 O/U)
16 Vermont (25-9 SU, 6-2 ATS, 2-3 O/U)

2 Kansas State (26-7 SU, 18-9-1 ATS, 15-11-1 O/U)
15 North Texas (24-8 SU, 17-6-2 ATS, 9-15 O/U)

3 Pittsburgh (24-8 SU, 16-11-2 ATS, 12-13 O/U)
14 Oakland (26-8 SU, 9-12 ATS, 12-6-1 O/U)

4 Vanderbilt (24-8 SU, 16-14 ATS, 18-10 O/U)
13 Murray State (30-4 SU, 14-13-2 ATS, 12-13-1 O/U)

Analysis: Okay college basketball betting enthusiasts, the top three seeds will all win their respective ballgames and only need to overcome their respective double digit point spreads.

In the case of fourth-seeded Vanderbilt, I think the very real possibility exists that Murray State could pull off the upset and advance to the second round.

Syracuse ranked sixth in the nation in ATS winning percentage this season while Kansas State ranked 12th and Pittsburgh, 55th. Vanderbilt ranked 112th ATS this season while Murray State ranked 139th.

5 Butler (28-4 SU, 13-19 ATS, 14-16 O/U)
12 UTEP (26-6 SU, 14-14 ATS, 15-12 O/U)

6 Xavier (24-8 SU, 20-11 ATS, 20-10 O/U)
11 Minnesota (21-13 SU, 17-16 ATS, 17-15 O/U)

7 BYU (29-5 SU, 18-13 ATS, 15-14 O/U)
10 Florida (21-12 SU, 15-13 ATS, 11-13 O/U)

8 Gonzaga (26-6 SU, 15-11-2 ATS, 16-11-1 O/U)
9 Florida State (22-9 SU, 8-18 ATS, 9-14-2 O/U)

Analysis: College basketball betting fans can expect a knock-down, drag-out affair out of all four matchups in the lower half of this bracket. I like Butler to take down UTEP in a squeaker while Xavier literally goes to the final possession or two against one of my favorite college teams in the nation (Minnesota).

The Golden Gophers have gone a robust 4-1 SU in neutral site games while Xavier managed to go just 2-3 SU in similar situations.

I think Gonzaga will beat an athletic Florida State team because of their overall smarts and maturity while Florida gives BYU all they can handle and then some, in an upset special.

Florida State recorded an impressive 3-1 SU mark in neutral site games this season but will face a Gonzaga team that did twice as well as they did (6-2 SU) in neutral site games.

The Gators however, will have to overcome BYU’s fine 4-1 SU mark in neutral-court games, as well as their own mediocre 3-3 SU record in neutral site games.

NCAA basketball bettors should know the Butler Bulldogs went 1-3 in neutral site games while UTEP recorded a 3-2 SU record in neutral site matchups.
