Who are the #1 Seeds for March Madness

Two of the top teams in the country were knocked off last Saturday afternoon, and another top squad will lose seeding spots due to an injury. That being said, here's the low-down on college basketball betting action for the prospective #1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament this week!

#1: Syracuse Orange (18-7 ATS, 27-2 SU) - If Syracuse wasn't the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament coming into college basketball betting action last week, it certainly is now. The Orange crushed Villanova 95-77 at home on Saturday night in one of the biggest wins of the entire season for any team across the country. Now, a trip to the South Bracket as the #1 seed is almost a certainty barring an unsightly loss to St. John's at home and an early exit in the Big East Tournament.

Up Next: Home vs. St. John's, Away @ Louisville

#2: Duke Blue Devils (17-9-2 ATS, 25-4 SU) - The #1 line has a new entrant this week in the form of the Blue Devils. They pounded both Tulsa and Virginia to move to an impressive 25-4 on the season. The ACC might not be as strong as it usually is in terms of other high quality teams, but there's never really a night off in this conference, and Coach K and the crew deserve to be rewarded with a top seed. There's plenty of room for setbacks though, and the Dookies had better make plans on sticking around in the ACC Tournament for quite some time if they want to remain the top seed in the West Region.

Up Next: Away @ Maryland, Home vs. North Carolina

#3: Kentucky Wildcats (15-12 ATS, 27-2 SU) - It only seemed like a matter of time until the Wildcats lost a second game, and for HC John Calipari's sake, it's probably good that that defeat happened now and not in a few weeks. Still, the big win against South Carolina was sweet; avenging what was the only loss of the season before the defeat on Rocky Top. Kentucky is still going to be a top seed in the dance, and will likely end up being placed in the East Bracket.

Up Next: Away @ Georgia, Home vs. Florida

#4: Kansas Jayhawks (10-15-1 ATS, 27-2 SU) - Much like Kentucky, it only felt like a matter of time until the Jayhawks were nabbed for a second loss. The atmosphere was perfect for it in Stillwater on Saturday afternoon, as the Okies were still fighting for their berth in the NCAA Tournament and badly needed a big, signature victory. It also could've been a case of a bit of a look ahead for HC Bill Self's team, who has the major clash with Kansas State in Lawrence coming up on Wednesday. Kansas probably needs one more win to make sure that it can stay on the #1 line, but for now, it is still safely the top seed in the Midwest.
