Gonzaga To Fend Off Overachieving Hilltoppers from Western Kentucky
Ok, so maybe those guys from Gonzaga Bulldogs on the horizon.
The Akron Zips gave it a stiff effort, but fell short as Gonzaga continued on to a 5-0 SU record, though they failed to cover the spread, suffering their first loss to the betting line in a long time. Gonzaga has been posting a hefty 78.9 points per game, and though this game is a wash on the moneyline, the oddsmakers are asking for a lot of points.
Luckily, the oddsmakers corrected the line down a half-point for Gonzaga which is a good thing. I don’t think Western Kentucky has anything left in the tank to stop the Gonzaga onslaught. Akron had the work ethic to try, but just couldn’t hold them off forever.

To those unaware, Western Kentucky ranks 35th overall in the country in defense, with just 61.3 points per game against. Will that be enough to stop the 13th best offense in the league? Doubtful. Granted, I’ll give Western Kentucky a little justice – they’re better than I thought. But I thought they were REALLY bad. It turns out they’re just mildly OK. Bet Gonzaga to burst this bubble and rip them to shreds (and no this has nothing to do with me being bitter about Illinois going to the Elite 8 in my bracket!).
