Don’t look now, but Ken Griffey Jr. is healthy and contributing in the Cincinnati Reds lineup. The 35-year old outfielder has been terribly injury prone over the last several seasons and had basically vanished out of the limelight. Heading into Monday night’s action, Griffey has 33 RBIs on the year and is finally batting over .260 again. It’ll be a long road back near the top, but Griffey Jr. is steadily getting better as this season plays on. He had a home run and five RBIs versus Pittsburgh on Sunday and seems to be heating up. The 17-year veteran appears to be durable enough to play every day and the Reds couldn’t be happier. After all, Junior is making over $10 million this season. Who knows, maybe Griffey will actually earn it in 2005.
