MLB Betting Free Picks – Diamondbacks Look to Stay Hot Against Brewers

Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

The Arizona Diamondbacks, (32-25, 28-28 RL) got two powerful pitching performances in their last two outings to snap their five-game sports betting losing streak in emphatic fashion.

After beating the Washington Nationals 4-0 on Saturday, getting a fine performance from staff ace Brandon Webb, the D-Backs got another stellar performance on Sunday from right-hander Dan Haren, (6-4, 3.40 ERA) as he helped Arizona to shut out Washington 5-0 by tossing seven innings and allowing just four hits.

"I think we've gotten back to being a little more confident these last couple days, and hopefully we'll go out and play well in Milwaukee and take care of business from there," Haren said. "This team is too good to not be able to win on the road, so I don't think anyone is worried."

The Diamondbacks will face a Milwaukee Brewers, (29-28, 25-32 RL) team that is on fire at the moment.

The Brewers routed the Houston Astros 10-1 on Sunday and allowed a microscopic total of three runs in the team’s three-game series with Houston.

The Diamondbacks will turn to veteran left-hander Doug Davis, (2-2, 4.57 ERA) who will try to bounce back from a poor outing in his last start as he was rocked by the San Francisco Giants in his last start, allowing six runs on nine hits in five innings of Arizona’s 11-3 loss.

Milwaukee will counter with veteran right-hander Jeff Suppan, (3-4, 3.93) who is coming off a solid outing in his last start, limiting the Atlanta Braves to no runs on four hits while striking out seven batters in eight innings.

Here is a look at tonight’s key trends, followed by my analysis and MLB Gambling Free Picks:

The Diamondbacks are 6-1 in Davis' last 7 starts as an underdog of +110 to +150.

The Diamondbacks are 4-1 in Davis' last 5 starts as a road underdog of +110 to +150.

The Brewers are 4-0 in Suppan’s last 4 home starts vs. a team with a winning record.

The Brewers are 7-1 in Suppan’s last 8 home starts.

The Under is 4-0-1 in Davis' last 5 Monday starts.

The Under is 4-0 in Brewers last 4 home games vs. a left-handed starter.

The Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Milwaukee.

The Diamondbacks are 4-10 in the last 14 meetings in Milwaukee.

Analysis: I’ve ridden the D-Backs hard all season long and rightfully so, but I think the Brewers and Jeff Suppan are the correct pick for tonight’s matchup, particularly since I believe that Arizona’s Doug Davis is just mediocre even at his very best.
