MLB Insider - National League Power Poll

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

The final month of the baseball betting season is hitting its home stretch! Check out BetUS Sportsbook’s NL Power Poll as we continue through the month of September…

1) Los Angeles Dodgers (90-60, +$1,697) (5-1, +$357 LW) (LW: 2) Hopefully for LA’s sake, the Dodgers have opened up enough of a lead in the NL West that they shouldn’t have to worry about the Wild Card. However, there’s still work to be done to wrap up the best record in the NL.

On Deck: @ Nationals, @ Pirates

2) Colorado Rockies (85-65, +$1,401) (4-3, -$43 LW) (LW: 1) The Rockies avoided a disastrous sweep in San Francisco to help their Wild Card chase. The biggest problem is that Florida and Atlanta are both gaining ground as well. This is going to be a fantastic final couple weeks of the season.

On Deck: vs. Padres, vs. Cardinals

3) Philadelphia Phillies (87-61, +$1,006) (5-1, +$400 LW) (LW: 5) Manager Charlie Manuel has to feel safe in the NL East race now after a good performance last week. Still, the foot can’t come off the gas pedal if the defending champs want to have the road to the World Series go through the City of Brotherly Love.

On Deck: @ Marlins, @ Brewers

4) San Francisco Giants (80-69, +$913) (3-3, +$39 LW) (LW: 4) The Giants had the Rockies on the ropes after taking the first two games of their three-game set, but they blew perhaps their best chance of getting back in the NL Wild Card race by losing the third game. There’s still a big uphill battle to face if San Fran is playoff bound.

On Deck: @ Diamondbacks, vs. Cubs

5) St. Louis Cardinals (87-63, +$870) (3-3, -$169 LW) (LW: 3) St. Louis still has some work to do to get back in front of Philadelphia and Los Angeles for the best record in the National League. Still, the Cards will be the first team this year to lock up a divisional pennant, and that’s something to be proud of.

On Deck: @ Astros, @ Rockies

6) Florida Marlins (80-70, +$704) (4-3, +$204 LW) (LW: 6) The Marlins are running out of time to finish closing that gap on the Rockies and Giants for the NL Wild Card. These six home games this week may all be must-wins, as the final six games of the season are all on the road.

On Deck: vs. Phillies, vs. Mets

7) San Diego Padres (68-82, -$160) (3-3, -$32 LW) (LW: 8) The Padres will have a shot to play the role of spoiler down the stretch of the season after a mixed bag of results of late. Yet another week is in the books, and San Diego’s offense still looks as anemic as ever. The unit is still only averaging 3.86 runs per game this season.

On Deck: @ Rockies, @ Diamondbacks

8) Cincinnati Reds (69-81, -$254) (5-2, +$354 LW) (LW: 10) By splitting a four-game set with the Marlins, the Reds may have effectively ended Florida’s season. If manager Dusty Baker’s job is dependent on these last two weeks of the year, he’ll be awfully happy that the Pirates are still on the slate twice.

On Deck: @ Pirates, @ Astros

And the rest…

9) Milwaukee Brewers (74-75, -$275) (5-2, +$414 LW) (LW: 11)

10) Atlanta Braves (79-70, -$310) (4-2, +$177 LW) (LW: 9)

11) Houston Astros (70-79, -$525) (0-6, -$677 LW) (LW: 7)

12) Chicago Cubs (76-72, -$1,355) (3-4, -$174 LW) (LW: 12)

13) New York Mets (65-85, -$1,493) (2-4, -$332 LW) (LW: 13)

14) Arizona Diamondbacks (65-85, -$2,070) (3-3, +$42 LW) (LW: 15)

15) Pittsburgh Pirates (56-91, -$2,473) (1-5, -$425 LW) (LW: 14)

16) Washington Nationals (51-98, -$3,328) (1-5, -$383 LW) (LW: 16)
