What a great weekend especially, if you followed my lead. Well we live to play more and more and this weekend's up coming games will be great. This is the best time of year to watch football uninterrupted by holidays and food. No lawns to mow, no turkeys to baste or cut. No toy shopping. All we have is, football, beer and friends. OK, OK and for those of us fortunate to haves significant others who enjoy football as much as we do. Hell, in most places its too damn cold to go outside anyway. Can you tell how excited I am? Lets review Wild Card Weekend and then I will leave you with the opening lines for this weeks upcoming games.

San Diego Chargers -7 Vs. New York Jets

I was wrong here but it's ok to be right the other 75%. I have a hard time of picking the Jets for or against. But I am very proud of my JETS jets jets jets, how could you not be? Even after a stupid penalty that should have ended the game the Jets hung in there and came through for NY. It wasn't typical and the JETS have usually lost games like this in the past but when I saw Nate Keading's kick go wide right I knew we were seeing something about to change in JET history and I was right. They marched down the field and had to kick the game winner TWICE!!!! Watch out for this team this could be the start of something wonderful. Especially now since Chad Pennington is healthy again. On to Pittsburgh where the Jets are 0-6 lifetime...

Indianapolis -10 Vs. Denver Broncos

Do I have to say anything here? Peyton Manning shows why he is the MVP two years running (second one announced on the day this recap was written (1/10/05). There was never any question about the winner here. The only question was by how many points. Now the Colts will go to Foxboro and see if they can break this outdoor curse. I would love to write more about this game but, how? It was a thorough beating again. Maybe Denver should win more games during the regular season so they don't end up in Indy again. Seattle -4 Vs St Louis

This game was exciting as well. It had lead changes and everything but Seattle let the Rams get out 14-3 before they even remembered they were in a playoff game. Wow! Never before has an 8-8 team won a playoff game and this year we had 2 teams that went 8-8 and both came out winners. And they both did it on the road no less. No more of that backing in talk for anyone. Whoever is left now is a playoff team. That's what you get when you win the first game and advance you now belong. Now it's on to Atlanta for these Rams.

Green Bay -6? Vs. Minnesota

If you read my write up last week on this game I said Randy Moss would have to show up oh and he did catching 2 touchdowns including the clincher that took the air out of Lambeau. Oh well what can you do if you are a Green Bay fan? Look forward to the summer that's all. Culpepper shredded the defense of the pack like cheese and Favre did just the opposite being shredded by the Viking defense for 4 INTS. He picked a bad time to play poorly at home. For the Vikings they get to go to Philly to avenge the earlier loss to the Eagles. I for one give them a shot. A very good shot.
