World Series Betting: Potential World Series Matchups
by Mike Rose

This time of year, there are a ton of teams that feel like they have a chance of winning the championship. BetUS Sportsbook looks at some of the most intriguing matchups and the odds that they will happen in the Fall Classic for your World Series betting enjoyment!
Chicago Cubs vs. Chicago White Sox (+12000): The odds are long, but imagine how the Windy City would react to a North Side/South Side battle! The White Sox seem like a reasonable option to make the Fall Classic if they can sneak into the playoffs behind their powerful pitching staff, but the Cubs are going to have a lot of work to do if they want to break the longest hex in baseball without a World Series ring.
Florida Marlins vs. Boston Red Sox (+5000): This may have a better chance than you think! The Red Sox are obviously the Red Sox, but the Marlins have come close to the playoffs in each of the L/2 seasons and may be ready to kick the door down this year in the National League. We all know what happens when the Fish win the Wild Card, right? They're two for two. Two Wild Cards. Two championships. SP Josh Beckett would be pitching against his former team in what could be his final appearances with the Red Sox before he becomes a free agent next year.
New York Mets vs. New York Yankees (+2500): Could it be another reincarnation of the Subway Series? Citi Field and New Yankees Stadium would make the Big Apple baseball's version of Mecca if that were the case. No one is ever going to count the Bronx Bombers out of the World Series betting discussions, but the Mets are quite a long ways off from getting back to championship form.
Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Yankees (+600): The price isn't very good, but this is the favorite scenario on the board. The defending champs from each league also represent the L/2 World Series winners. SP Cole Hamels would love to get his hands on the boys in pinstripes yet again, and former Toronto Blue Jays SP Roy Halladay is a man with quite the history against the Yanks. The storylines would be fantastic in what is a very realistic possibility for the Fall Classic.
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Toronto Blue Jays (+275000): Hey, why not try to turn your $100 into $2.75M?!?! If you like long shots, it doesn't get any longer than this. The Pirates are annually the farm team for every other club in baseball, while the Blue Jays still have to be reeling after getting rid of SP Roy Halladay in the offseason and getting very little in return. Still, it's fun to play the "What if?" game, and you can rest assured that if this produced a winner, not only is someone going to be a very rich person but Major League Baseball as we know it would never be the same.
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Detroit Tigers (+20000): Here we have a very reasonable chance of a World Series betting battle at a fantastic price with storylines that would be amazing. The D'Backs and Tigers made the swap of the offseason, and don't you think for one moment that SP Edwin Jackson won't want to get some revenge on the team that traded him away this offseason. Both of these teams have the pitching to get to the postseason, but it's the offense that may keep both teams down. Still, there has to be better than a 200-1 chance of this happening.
