Today in Online MLB baseball betting action The Detroit Tigers send Kenny Rogers to the mound in their first game of a four game series on the road versus the Toronto Blue Jays. Rogers was excellent in his first start of the season. He allowed only two runs on five hits in six innings of work. Since then, Rogers hasn’t been all that good. He’s gone 0 and 2 with a 6.75 ERA. Rogers is looking for his first win of the season.

He might get it as the Toronto Blue Jays, who had scheduled A.J. Burnett to start this game, will have to go with Triple A call-up David Purcey. Purcey has never started in a major league game before. It will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure. How green is Purcey? I can’t find a picture of the guy anywhere on the net. That’s how green.

How good is David Purcey? Who knows? Sometimes a pitcher will get called up and throw lights out. Other times a pitcher will get called up and then end up lasting only two or three innings. Sometimes a pitcher gets called up and won’t last a single inning.
Because the Tigers are loaded with heavy bats at the top and bottom of their line-up there’s really no reason to believe that Purcey will have a good outing. The Blue Jays have already said that they will send Purcey back to the minors once he’s finished playing in this game.
That’s not exactly a vote of confidence for the young guy. I mean, the Jays are pretty much sending him to the gallows by making him pitch to that Tiger line-up.
In any case, I like Rogers giving up a run and a half for odds. I think he will find it easier against the Toronto Blue Jays in this game now that he has to face Purcey instead of Burnett.
I don’t expect anything close to a pitcher’s duel in this either. So, the BetUS over looks like it will probably be a solid wager.
