Run production may have slowed down in the majors this season, but there are still some red hot ‘over’ teams in the bigs! Which teams are knocking the ball out of the yard and struggling with their arms? Here’s BetUS Sportsbook’s list of the top ‘over’ teams for the L/5 days!

(Rank) (Team) (O/U Record) (O/U Record in L/5)

1: baseball wagering just keeps humming. Anaheim is averaging over 5.7 runs per games this season and is batting a stunning .290 as a team! Unfortunately, the pitching staff just hasn’t kept up with the bats, as it ranks 26th in the majors in ERA. Still, with the way the bats are humming, the Halos have opened up a sizeable lead in the AL West standings. At some point though, someone aside from Jered Weaver is going to have to step up and pick up the slack on this pitching staff. Every other regular starting pitcher has an ERA of at least 4.00, and both Joe Saunders and Ervin Santana have 5.00+ ERAs. The bullpen hasn’t been much better. Closer Brian Fuentes may have already reached the 30+ save plateau, but his ERA is a very unacceptable 4.30.

2: Baltimore Orioles (51-50-5) (4-1 in L/5) The Orioles may be relatively irrelevant in terms of the playoffs this season, but they still have a ton of games against playoff contenders left this season. They haven’t done so well against the big boys of late, as they had dropped four straight to the combination of Boston and Detroit before beating the Tigers last night. The pitching staff was embarrassed for 18 runs against the BoSox on Sunday. Six of the Orioles’ L/7 games have surpassed the ‘total’. It’s never a good sign when your leader in wins at this juncture of the season only has seven total. Not only does Bradley Bergesen lead the team in wins (7) and ERA (3.43), but he is the only member of the O’s current starting rotation to have an ERA better than 5.00. That’s bad news for a team that just traded its closer away at the deadline.

3: Detroit Tigers (40-62-3) (4-1 in L/5) Detroit is one of these teams that seems to do everything just well enough but isn’t dominant in any category. The hope is that SP Jarrod Washburn would help boost a pitching staff that ranks eighth in the majors in ERA, but his first outing was a disaster. He allowed six runs in 5.1 innings against the Orioles, suffering the loss in his Detroit debut. 1B Miguel Cabrera continues to quietly put together a season that may warrant MVP consideration. He is batting .334 with 21 dingers on the season, but no one has seemed to notice either stat. Even though they’re one of the worst ‘over’ teams in baseball, the Tigers have played just one ‘under’ game since July 27th (5-1-1).

And the rest…

4: Washington Nationals (50-53-3) (4-1 in L/5)

5: Minnesota Twins (49-55-2) (4-1 in L/5)
