MLB Betting – Who’s Hot MLB’s Hottest ‘Over’ Teams
Run production is finally starting to pick up around the majors, and there are some red hot ‘over’ teams in the bigs! Which teams are knocking the ball out of the yard and struggling with their arms? Here’s BetUS Sportsbook’s list of the top ‘over’ teams for the L/5 days!
1: Milwaukee Brewers (71-57-3) (4-1 in L/5) In a season where a ton of teams in the majors have winning records for ‘under’ bettors, the Brewers have been an incredibly consistent ‘over’ squad. The good news is that guys like 1B Prince Fielder and OF Ryan Braun are still mashing the baseball. The duo has combined for 54 homers and over 210 RBIs already with a month of the season to go. The bad news… Save for RHP Yovani Gallardo, every starting pitcher has an ERA of 4.92 or worse. The Brewers couldn’t pull off a move at the trade deadline like they did last year when they acquired LHP CC Sabathia, and the punishment is probably going to be a sub-.500 record for the season and a third place finish in the NL Central.
2: Tampa Bay Rays (58-69-5) (3-2 in L/5) The bullpen was probably the biggest reason why the Rays made the playoffs last season, and the bullpen is likely going to be what keeps them out of it in this one. LHP JP Howell has blown seven saves this season, and the spots in which he is imploding are becoming more and more important as Tampa Bay drifts further behind Boston in the AL Wild Card race. Even though they both have sub-4.00 ERAs, neither Matt Garza nor James Shields have winning records for the season. Manager Joe Maddon is going to have some long-term planning to do now that LHP Scott Kazmir is an Angel. Is RHP Andy Sonnanstine the answer to the fifth starter slot, or is rookie RHP Wade Davis ready for the big leagues? Even though the Rays probably won’t make the playoffs, these next four weeks are still critical for the franchise’s future.
3: Florida Marlins (69-57-7) (3-2 in L/5) The Fish went from being in a prime position to make some noise in the NL East and the NL Wild Card race to being up the creek without a paddle in a hurry. Last night, they salvaged an 8-7 victory over the Braves after nearly blowing a 7-3 lead, but the damage has probably already been done. After losing five of their L/7, the Marlins are five games behind Colorado with Atlanta and San Francisco between them. Now, SS Hanley Ramirez is in a feud with 2B Dan Uggla, and it’s never good when you’ve got the two best players on your team bickering with one another. Don’t blame the bats for this recent losing streak, though. The pitchers have averaged allowing 6.57 runs per game in their L/7.
And the rest…
4: Oakland Athletics (64-66-2) (3-2 in L/5)
5: Kansas City Royals (60-67-5) (3-2 in L/5)
