Profits Stay Out West with Angels, Rangers and Dodgers

Both the Angels and Rangers continue to stay atop the power rankings as the two A.L. West teams have suddenly become the top two betting teams in the MLB this season.

The Los Angeles Angels are the only team with a profits of over +2000 ATS.  The Rangers are the only team with profits of over +1300 ATS as the third team in the power rankings, the L.A. Dodgers have fallen to +1296 ATS.

Let’s take a look at the rankings.

MLB:  Power Rankings

  1. Los Angeles Angels 70-45 ATS +2434 units 65-50 RL +1485 units - - The hottest team in baseball swept Tampa Bay and then went 2 and 1 against Baltimore with a game upcoming on Monday night.  With a series against Cleveland followed by one against Toronto, the Angels should keep up their winning ways this week.
  2. Texas Rangers 66-50 ATS +1943 units 63-53 RL +945 units - - 2 and 1 against the Angels, 2 and 1 against Boston and 2 and 1 against Cleveland before a 4 games series against the Minnesota Twins has the Rangers feeling good about themselves.  Catching the Angels could be a tall order, but the wild card is within reach.
  3. Los Angeles Dodgers 70-48 ATS +1296 units 55-63 RL -509 units - - Going 2 and 1 against San Francisco was nice, but 1 and 3 against Atlanta and 1 and 2 against Arizona?  Really?  L.A. faces the St. Louis Cardinals, who beat them like a drum the last time the two teams met, before taking on the Chicago Cubs this week.  It could be a long week for the Dodgers.
  4. Colorado Rockies 65-53 ATS +1016 units 64-54 RL +807 units - - The Rockies gave a good showing of themselves last week by winning 3 out of 4 against the Chicago Cubs and going 2 and 1 against Pittsburgh, but the 1 and 2 against the Florida Marlins kept them from gaining even more ground on L.A.  A series against Washington coming up should help
  5. Florida Marlins 63-55 ATS +900 units 65-53 RL +1167 units - - The Marlins held their own against Colorado, Houston and Philadelphia last week.  They are suddenly within earshot of the Phillies for the top spot in the N.L. East.  They probably won’t get there but they’ve been hot lately so gamblers should ride the profit train with them.
  6. San Francisco Giants 63-54 ATS +809 units 63-53 +1189 units - - They’re only 4 and 6 in their last 10 and have definitely let some games get away from them, but this team is still profitable for the most part.  Another game against the New York Mets on Monday night followed by a series against the Cincinnati Reds could go either way for the Giants.
  7. Philadelphia Phillies 66-49 ATS +745 units 61-54 RL +1348 units - - 6 and 4 in their last including sweeping Chicago has to make them feel good but what was up with that Florida series?  They should throttle the Arizona Diamondbacks this week before facing their rivals, the New York Mets.
  8. New York Yankees 71-44 +718 ATS 62-56 RL +709 units - - 8 and 2 in their last 10 with a series against the Oakland Athletics coming up has to make Yankees’ fans happy.  That, and the fact that they get to play Boston this weekend, a team that they swept the last time they faced them, means that folks are jumping up an down in Manhattan.
  9. Seattle Mariners 61-57 ATS +645 units 55-63 RL -1219 units - - Only 5 and 5 in their last 10 but they are profitable which is more than what can be written about most of the other teams in MLB.  Seattle starts the week out tough by facing the Detroit Tigers.  It’s gets easier later in the week, though, when they get to take it to the Cleveland Indians.
  10. St. Louis Cardinals 67-52 ATS +583 units 62-57 RL +598 units - - 8 and 2 in their last 10 and a 3 game series coming up against the Los Angeles Dodgers who they beat easily the last time the two teams met means that the Cardinals are the top mover and shaker on this list.  St. Louis is getting really hot at the right time.
