Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

The Philadelphia Phillies (95-70 SU, 83-80 RL, 72-83-8 O/U) will be looking to finish off the Colorado Rockies (93-72 SU, 87-77 RL, 73-81-10 O/U) when they battle their NL rivals at Coors Field in Game 4 of their NLDS showdown tonight at 6 PM ET.

Philadelphia took a 2-1 series lead by beating Rockies 6-5 as a -110 favorite on Sunday while the game’s 11 combined runs played Over the 9-run O/U total.

Chase Utley was 2-3 with a solo home run and two runs scored for Philadelphia, while Ryan Howard and Carlos Ruiz each drove in a pair of runs.

Carlos Gonzalez went 3-4 with a solo home run and three runs scored for Colorado while Garrett Atkins added a pair of RBI in a losing effort.

Tonight, the Phillies will hand the ball to left-handed ace Cliff Lee (15-13, 3.14 ERA) while the Rockies counter with right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez (15-13, 3.59 ERA).

Analysis: After leading BetUS MLB sports betting members to a solid win in two of the three games in this series, including Sunday’s narrow win, I am back with what should amount to another winning wager on tonight’s contest.

The Philadelphia Phillies are 5-1 in their last six playoff games, a blistering 9-2 in their last 11 games against NL West ballclubs and a stellar 4-1 in their last five playoff road games.

While the Colorado have gone 16-5 in their last 21 home games versus a left-handed starter and a robust 6-1 in Ubaldo Jimenez’s last seven home starts, the Rockies have also struggled to beat winning teams, going a unimpressive 1-4 in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 2-5 in Jimenez’s last seven starts against NL East opponents.

The Phillies are my pick for the straight up win tonight as they’ve gone a perfect 4-0 in Cliff Lee’s last four starts against NL West ballclubs and a stellar 5-1 in Lee’s last six starts versus a team with a winning record.

Colorado, despite being the second-best offensive team in the National League, just don’t matchup very well with the Phillies, going a disturbing 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in Colorado and a dismal 1-4 in the last five meetings overall.

Simply put, I like the Phillies to finish off the Rockies and close out this series tonight.
