Betting MLB: The Playoffs

If you are getting ready to start handicapping the MLB playoffs and put your action in at BetUS.com, take a minute to think of years past.

Eddie Stanky, one of baseballs most colorful personalities of the 1940’s and ‘50’s, coined the phrase “baseball is a crazy game”. If you are too young to remember Stanky, he was the Billy Martin of his time. He was the guy who ran out of the Giants dugout after Bobby Thompson’s shot heard ‘round the world in the 1951 NL playoff and tackled Leo Durocher, the Giants skipper, and the third base coach, and rode him all the way to home plate.

There are always great underdogs in the playoffs, last year the Angels beat the Yanks, the Cardinals lost early, the defending champ  went down early too. So don’t be scared by the odds. Remember last year the Yanks were at home with the Big Unit against the Angels and the Halos spanked him at a great price.

The 2005 Cardinals at home with Carpenter got beat. Then in round two, the  got game one in Chicago as a dog. So where will this year’s big dogs be?

What will happen if the Twins open in New York with Santana? Will you get the Yanks as a dog or Santana at a price? How about the A’s against the Tigers? You will get one of them as a dog. How about the NL, will you get a price against the slumping Cardinals with a pretty good wild card team? It’s setting up to be a wide open postseason and a great one to bet on.

I will give my  to you if you email me at the address below when the match-ups are announced.

BRICK BATS:

-How about that Roger Clemens after signing a $20 million-dollar deal for a partial season. He volunteered to pitch the last home game for the Astros on three days rest, what a guy, what a hero. He gets yet another final ovation making $20 mil in the process, WOW!

-MY MVP’s…NL Ryan Howard….AL Joe Mauer.

-Ozzie Ball died a slow death this year in Chi-town, as skipper Ozzie Guillen accused the Sox of quitting last week. He said they get paid for 162 games not 150.

-How about Jason Giambi acting as a spokesman for Yankee tradition? Last year he was the scapegoat of all the ‘roids takers and on the verge of being sent to back to triple A. He and Arod should both shut up and start earning their $$$$. The Yankees have spent a Billion dollars the last five years and have zero titles to show for it.

-How about Ichiro and Alfonso Soriano…the only players you know are not on anything.

Ichiro another 200-hit season and another 30-steal season. If he was in New York or LA what would he earn? Then Soriano, 40-40-40 what a player! Do you think the Yanks wish they had held him? Hats off to both of them for a great .
