Minnesota Twins vs Texas Rangers - MLB Betting Line

A battle of very talented lefthanders takes center stage tonight as Brian Duensing of the Twins goes up against C.J. Wilson of the Rangers. The Twins will look to get a win on the board after dropping two straight in Texas, and they can’t afford to drop too many more as they are in a very tight divisional race in the AL Central with the Chicago White Sox. With both the Twins and Chi Sox playing poorly of late, it’s anyone’s guess who is going to step up and take the division.

After a mini-slump of sorts, the Texas Rangers are back playing the kind of baseball that a division leader should be playing. With the Anaheim Angels all but out of it, currently sitting ten games back, the Rangers all but have the division locked up. But that is no reason for them to take their foot off the gas pedal, just ask the Minnesota Twins who have just dropped two straight down in Arlington.

A third straight loss would be a real kick in the you know what’s as the Twins only have a 3 1/2 game lead in the AL Central standings, and have to face Cliff Lee in the finale tomorrow. The Twinkies are hoping that Brian Duensing can continue his incredible run as he has been on fire since joining the rotation in late July. He is 4-0 with a 2.18 ERA over that stretch and is fresh of an eight inning gem against the Angels, where he only surrendered a single run.

The problem for the Twins is that Texas’ C.J. Wilson is just as hot. Wilson hasn’t dropped a decision in his last seven outings and is also fresh off his own masterpiece where he gave up just three hits and no runs in eight innings of work. In his last three contests he is 2-0 with a microscopic 1.25 ERA.
