MLB Betting – Hottest Hosts

Bookmark and Share by Mike Rose

Any time you can turn your home field into a little house of horrors for the opposition, you're going to be a hero for baseball bettors. The teams you see atop these BetUS has all of the information that you need to cash in while the iron is hot!

Season Standings

1: New York Mets (24-10, +$1,224) - What great baseball the Mets have played at Citi Field this year! The team has only won one road series all season long (which came this past weekend in Baltimore), but a +14 record at home has kept the team in the race for the NL East title. Since May 22nd, New York has only lost one game at home, that coming in the first game of a double dip against the Padres last week.

2: Atlanta Braves (19-6, +$1,027) - However, there isn't a hotter home team in the league right now than the Braves! Atlanta hasn't lost at Turner Field since May 17th, though that will almost certainly go by the boards this week when the team comes home for the start of a long home stand.

3: Washington Nationals (18-12, +$816) - Bad news might be on the way for Nats bettors. With RHP Stephen Strasburg now pitching in the big leagues, Washington is going to get a heck of a lot more respect than it normally does, and the oddsmakers are certainly going to punish you when the big righty is on the hill. However, for the time being, Nationals Park is a house of horrors for opponents regardless of who is pitching.

Who's Hot?

1: Atlanta Braves (5-0, +$500) - For the second straight edition of the "Hottest Hosts", the Braves appear as "Who's Hot." Atlanta's three game sweep of the Phillies to start the month of June has really set the stage for a fantastic run that has carried it to the head of the class in the NL East. They now stand ten games above .500 through 64 games.

2: New York Yankees (5-0, +$500) - We tend to not really give the Yankees the benefit of the doubt here because of the teams that they have beaten on this home winning streak. Taking out Houston and Baltimore is to be expected, because goodness knows that a loss at home to either of those teams can set up a 4-1 week in which they lose money. Still, New York has run down Tampa Bay for the top spot in the AL East standings, and it only feels like a matter of time before it just puts the Rays away for good.

3: Detroit Tigers (5-0, +$500) - The Tigers were just barely left off the season standings for monies earned at home this year, but more ball like this will almost certainly put them on the list in a real hurry. Once again, beating up on Pittsburgh and Cleveland isn't anything to write home about throughout this home winning streak, but without those games, Detroit would be in big trouble in the AL Central and not just 2.5 games behind the Twinkies.
