Angels’ starter Joe Saunders is 12-5 in 18 starts covering 120.1 innings with 63 strikeouts, 31 walks and a 3.07 ERA.

Analysis: This matchup is going to be a downright electric affair that could turn out to be a classic pitcher’s duel, but in the end, I’m going with the Los Angeles Angels to win this game at home behind a stellar effort from starting pitcher Joe Saunders.

Tampa Bay Rays

The Pitchers: Blue Jays starter Roy Halladay is 11-6 in 19 starts and one relief appearance covering 146.1 innings with 121 strikeouts, 21 walks and an ERA of 2.71.

Rays starter Scott Kazmir is 7-5 in 14 starts covering 83.0 innings with 91 strikeouts, 31 walks and a 3.04 ERA.

Analysis: I know the Tampa Bay Rays have been struggling in a big way recently, but I like the young ballclub to get back to their winning ways tonight behind a masterful effort from southpaw starter Scott Kazmir though beating Toronto’s Roy Halladay will not be an easy task.

MLB Free Picks: Rays 4 Blue Jays 3

Florida Marlins

The Pitchers: Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick is 8-3 in 19 starts covering 104.2 innings with 47 strikeouts, 32 walks and a 4.47 ERA.

Marlins starter Scott Olsen is 5-4 in 19 starts covering 119.1 innings with 64 strikeouts, 43 walks and an ERA of 3.77.

Analysis: While this game won’t be a pitching showdown, this matchup should still be very exciting between the top two teas in the NL East. I like Philadelphia’s strong batting order to tag Marlins starter Scott Olsen in a close contest.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The Pitchers: Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley is 9-8 in 19 starts and two relief appearances covering 116.1 innings with 128 strikeouts, 50 walks and a 3.25 ERA.

Diamondbacks starter Dan Haren is 8-5 in 19 starts covering 125.2 innings with 112 strikeouts, 22 walks and an ERA of 2.72.

Analysis: I really like Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley, but not nearly as much as D-Backs hurler, Dan Haren. Take the Diamondbacks to win this matchup behind another gem from Dan Haren.
