MLB Sept.28 – Sunday Four Pack of MLB Free Picks

Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

With just one game remaining in the BetUS Sportsbook coming into today’s matchups, at least five teams are still gunning for, either their respective division titles or a wild card berth.

This MLB Saturday ‘Four-Pack’ will give members of the BetUS online wagering community four excellent opportunities to increase their respective MLB seasonal bankrolls by making some solid wagers on this final weekend of regular season baseball.

Here is a look at each contest, followed by my analysis and MLB Free Picks:

Florida Marlins at New York Mets

The Pitchers: Marlins starter Scott Olsen is 8-11 in 32 starts covering 195.2 innings with 109 strikeouts, 68 walks and with an ERA of 4.23.

Mets starter Johan Santana is 15-7 in 33 starts covering 225.1 innings with 197 strikeouts, 60 walks and with a 2.64 ERA.

Analysis: While there is absolutely no way that Johan Santana loses this game, will New York’s win be a case of too little too late? Either way, the Mets win this one handily.

MLB Free Picks: Mets 6 Marlins 2

Washington Nationals at Philadelphia Phillies

The Pitchers: Nationals starter Odalis Perez is 7-11 in 29 starts covering 156.0 innings with 114 strikeouts, 54 walks and a 4.27 ERA.

Phillies starter Cole Hamels is 14-10 in 33 starts covering 227.1 innings with 196 strikeouts, 53 walks and with an ERA of 3.09.

Analysis: Much like the aforementioned game, there is no way the Phillies lose this game with their staff ace, Hamels taking the bump. Washington’s Odalis Perez has been mediocre all season long and Philadelphia’s heavy hitters will make the Nationals pay.

MLB Free Picks: Phillies 7 Nationals

Cleveland Indians at Chicago White Sox

The Pitchers: Indians starter Cliff Lee is 22-3 in 31 starts covering 223.1 innings with 170 strikeouts, 34 walks with and ERA of 2.54.

White Sox starter Mark Buehrle is 14-12 in 33 starts covering 211.2 innings with134 strikeouts, 51 walks and with a 3.87 ERA.

Analysis: The Chicago White Sox are facing Cleveland Indians staff ace Cliff Lee at the worst time possible and I say their underachieving club, which has squandered several opportunities to put the AL Central title away and will take a devastating loss because of it. I like the Indians to score just enough runs off of Mark Buehrle to make their win hold up for Lee.

MLB Free Picks: Indians 4 White Sox 3

Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins

The Pitchers: Royals starter Brandon Duckworth is 3-2 in six starts covering 32.0 innings with 15 strikeouts, 15 walks and an 5.06 ERA.

Twins starter Scott Baker is 10-4 in 27 starts covering 165.1 innings with 132 strikeouts, 41 walks and with and ERA of 3.59.

Analysis: Scott Baker has been nearly ‘rock-solid’ for the Twins down the stretch and should be able to handle the lowly Royals easily in their final regular season game of 2008. Go with the Twins bettors and you won’t go wrong!

MLB Free Picks: Twins 7 Royals 3
