2009 MLB Futures - Home Runs, Hits and RBI's

With the start of the 2009 MLB regular season set to kick off in less than one month, the clever oddsmakers at BetUS have come up with a multitude of entertaining MLB Odds featuring the most key hitting categories in the game.
This look at the home run, RBI, runs and total hits odds, should leave BetUS MLB baseball betting fanatics absolutely salivating.
Most Home Runs By Any Player
Over 47½ HRs -115
Under 47½ HRs -115
Analysis: Ryan Howard has hit 48, 47 and 58 home runs in each of the last three seasons, winning the title in 08 and 06 while coming in third place to A-Rod (54) and Prince Fielder (50) in 2007. Even with power numbers going back to ‘normal’ after the Steroid Era, I say Howard or some other player reaches 48 long balls.
MLB Free Pick: Over 47½ home runs
Most RBI’S By Any Player
Over 146½ RBIs -115
Under 146½ RBIs -115
Analysis: Howard had 146 RBI last season while Texas Rangers’ outfielder Josh Hamilton was a distant second with 130. A-Rod led the league with 156 in 2007 while Howard won the RBI title in 2006 with 149. With Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley hitting in front of him, I say Howard or Albert Pujols narrowly tops this mark in 2009.
MLB Free Pick: Over 146 ½ RBIs
Most Runs by Any Player
Over 129½ Runs -115
Under 129½ Runs -115
Analysis: Florida’s Hanley Ramirez crossed home plate 125 times last season to beat out Dustin Pedroia (118) and Carlos Beltran (116). A-Rod led the league with 143 in 2007, besting Jimmy Rollins (139). In 2006, Cleveland’s Grady Sizemore scored 134 runs to beat out Utley (131) and Beltran (127). This pick is a tough call, but I say the Under looks pretty good here.
MLB Free Pick: Under 129½ Total Runs
Most Hits By Any Player
Over 219½ Hits -115
Under 219½ Hits -115
Analysis: Ichiro Suzuki has either tied or led in this category in each of the last three seasons, tying Boston’s Dustin Pedroia with 213 hits last season while rapping out 238 in 2007 and 224 in 2006. I like the Under here in this category as it takes a Herculean effort to top a whopping 220 hits – and Suzuki doesn’t have the protection behind him that he needs.
MLB Free Pick: Under 219½ Total Hits
