With Opening Day lurking just around the corner, let’s get started.

Bobby Abreu vs. Carlos Lee

Bobby Abreu +15 Hits -120

Carlos Lee -15 Hits -110

Analysis: Abreu has 180 hits last season and in his previous four seasons, 171, 163, 168 and 173 hits. Carlos Lee rapped out 137 in 115 games last season and 190, 76, 111 and 164 hits in the previous four seasons. I like Bobby Abreu here as he will get more than his fair share of opportunities with the Angels this season while Lee has been far too inconsistent to predict.

MLB Fee Picks: Bobby Abreu +15 hits

Jason Bay vs. Carlos Beltran

Jason Bay +5 Hits Ev

Carlos Beltran -5 Hits -130

Analysis: Over the last five seasons, Jason Bay has rapped out 165, 133, 163, 184 and 116 hits compared to Carlos Beltran’s five-year totals of 172, 153, 140, 155 and 74 hits. Judging by the numbers, I like Beltran to finish the season with at least six more hits than Bay. The simple fact of the matter is that Beltran is a better hitter than Bay and a better runner as well. Take Carlos Beltran to win this wager BetUS MLB sports betting members.

MLB Free Pick: Carlos Beltran -5 hits

Lance Berkman vs. Miguel Cabrera

Lance Berkman +6½ Hits Ev

Miguel Cabrera -6½ Hits -130

Analysis: Over the last five years, Berkman has pumped out seasons of 173, 156, 169, 137 and 172 hits compared to Miguel Cabrera’s 180, 188, 195, 198 and 177 hits. While Lance Berkman is a fine hitter in his own right, it is Miguel Cabrera that is going to end up in the Hall of Fame. A look at the statistics over the last five years tells me all I need to know. Take Miguel Cabrera in this wager and don’t look back MLB sports bettors.

MLB Free Pick: Miguel Cabrera -6½ hits

Ryan Braun vs. Josh Hamilton

Ryan Braun +1 Hits -140

Josh Hamilton -1 Hits +110

Analysis: This wager pits two players that don’t have much big league experience against one another. Ryan Braun has laced 174 and 146 hits over the last two seasons while Josh Hamilton has totaled 190 and 87 hits since getting to the bigs. While I sincerely like Ryan Braun and think he’s going to put up some solid power numbers throughout his career, I can honestly say that I haven’t seen many hitters that possess the ability of Josh Hamilton, arguably the best hitter in the game today. I say Hamilton wins this player-vs.-player wager handily.

MLB Free Pick: Josh Hamilton -1 Hit

Jay Bruce vs. Vladimir Guerrero

Jay Bruce +8½ Hits -110

Vladimir Guerrero -8½ Hits -120

Analysis: Jay Bruce pumped out 105hits in 108 games last season … which are pretty good numbers for such a young player. Vladimir Guerrero has laced 164, 186, 200, 165 and 206 hits over the last five seasons, one of which he won the AL MVP award (2004). Maybe it’s me, but I like ‘Vlad the Impaler’ here, duh.

MLB Free Pick: Vladimir Guerrero -8½ Hits

Pat Burrell vs. Carlos Delgado

Pat Burrell -6½ Hits +240

Carlos Delgado +6½ Hits -300

Analysis: It’s a damn shame that Pat Burrell was never appreciated in online bettors as Carlos Delgado win here.

MLB Free Pick: Carlos Delgado +6½ hits
