Check Out These Tiger Props for the 2010 Masters

Tiger Woods is back…almost. There is about three weeks before golfers tee-off in the first major tournament of 2010, the Masters at Augusta National.
So, there is some time to discuss Tiger’s real chance of winning the Masters. No discussion is really necessary regarding the Tiger Woods’ props in the golf sportsbook regarding the Masters.
When golf betting props, I like to let the odds lead me. Betting the Tiger props for the Masters is no different. Some odds are worth it. Other Golf Odds are not. Let’s take a look at each of the props being offered in the sportsbook regarding El Tigre’s return to competitive golf.
Tiger Woods’ Masters Props
Tee-off: April 8th
Make the Cut -1000
Are you kidding? Well, yeah, Tiger should make the cut but putting up $1000 bucks to make a $100 profit just isn’t the way to be a profitable bettor. You would have to win 10 straight $100 wagers at even money, that means no juice, in order to break even should Tiger not make the cut. It’s just not a great bet to make. The risk is too great.
Miss the Cut +450
Not a bad bet, really. I mean, yes, El Tigre should definitely make the cut, but who knows? Maybe, the gallery really gets to him and he ends up missing the cut like he did in last year’s British Open. Tiger is great, but at the odds, this really isn’t that bad of a wager.
I mean, it will be his first tournament action in a long time and who knows how mentally sharp he will be after rehab and the girly stories. I wouldn’t talk anybody out of taking a shot on this prop.
WD (withdraw) or DQ (disqualified) +2500
This is a tough one. I don’t see Tiger getting disqualified. I do believe there is a chance, an outside chance, of him withdrawing. Why? We just don’t know how he’s going to feel once he actually steps onto the course. He says he “thinks he’s ready”.
That’s not the same as knowing he’s ready. Is this worth a bet? Yes and no. I believe that it could happen, Tiger withdrawing, but I’d like more odds, say +35000 or higher.
To have a hole in one +7000
Tiger has made 18 hole in ones in his life. 2 of them have occurred during his PGA career. That’s right. Only 2. So, offer +17000 odd on this prop and then I’ll consider it.
To be Leaders/Joint leader after Round 1 and win +600
In 16 tournaments in 2009, Tiger Woods shot under 70 in the 1st Round in 8 of them. He’s going to have to shoot an under 70 in the 1st Round of the Masters in order to be either the leader or the joint leader and even then, someone might do better. So, the odds don’t really get me fired up to bet this prop.
I mean, 6 to 1 is better than 3 to 1, but the chances of Tiger being hot right out of the gate aren’t great when he’s been playing consistently. He hasn’t in 2010, obviously. So, I’ll pass on betting this prop.
The Masters is three weeks away and Tiger Woods will be there! Why not take a chance on a few prop bets in the sportsbook?
