The NASCAR betting world is still trying to catch its breath after what Kyle Busch was able to accomplish last weekend, as he won races in all of the touring series sanctioned by the organization - the Sprint Cup, Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series - in the same week and the same track. That had never been done before, but if anyone was going to do it, I guess it was going to be Busch, who may have as much raw talent as any driver in the world.

In fact, there are six tracks where Kyle has won a race in all three series, at one time or another - Bristol is one of them, along with Dover, Fontana, New Hampshire and Phoenix. Oh, and Chicagoland is the sixth. He will be the overwhelming NASCAR betting favorite this weekend as he goes off at +105. There are percentages in Busch's favor, not to mention history. He has won almost 25% of all the starts he has made in trucks, and won this particular race last year, the first time it had been held. There was no cakewalk, however, as Todd Bodine battled him to the end.

If you're keeping score, Busch, with his win in the Irwin Tools Night Race last week, jumped five places to be third in the Sprint Cup standings, and his three wins are right behind Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson.  Despite running only 20 of the 24 races, he is also third in the Nationwide points race, because he has won exactly half of the races he's entered (10 of 20), with 16 finishes in the top five. Busch has also been perhaps the most outstanding competitor in the Camping World Truck Series. He's been in only half the races (8 of 16), yet he has won more poles than anybody else (four) and is tied with Kevin Harvick and Bodine (+400 in the NASCAR betting odds) for the most wins with three. All told, Busch has won 16 races across all three series. Busch competes for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Cup, but owns his own truck team.

This race is obviously very important in terms of crowning the overall Truck Series champion, where Busch, by virtue of his very limited schedule, is not a part of. Bodine is the NASCAR points leader, and has finished eleven times in the top five. He's got quite a lead, but his most immediate challenge comes from Aric Almirola, who is 211 points behind in second place and goes off at +800 in this week's NASCAR betting odds, followed by Timothy Peters, who is +700. Johnny Sauter, who won a Nationwide race at Chicagoland in 2002, is in fourth position in the standings, priced at +1000. With a win, Busch can tie Bodine for the fourth-most truck wins in history (20). Ron Hornaday, the defending series champion who is fifth in the standings, has the most wins with 46. He's priced at +450 in this week's NASCAR betting.
