NASCAR All-Star Weekend Rolls into Charlotte

NASCAR All-Star Weekend: Stars, or sleepers?
Like most of us at BetUS, the good ol’ boys of NASCAR will be fueled by one thing (other than gasoline!) this week: Money. That’s because stock car’s version of the “Mid-summer Classic” is this weekend, as the Sprint All-Star Race rolls, literally and figuratively, into Charlotte at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
Unlike all-star events in other sports, the NASCAR version of the gathering generally produces more exciting results than a normal, weekly outing. The first, and likely most important reason, is that $1 million is on the line for the winner of the duel. But secondly, just like in the major sports, it’s not a “regular season” affair, meaning some of the rules go out the window. No, you still cannot drive backwards around the track a-la Ricky Bobby, or fill your car with nitrous, but drivers can certainly loosen up. Generally, “loosening up” for athletes means exuding less effort, but in NASCAR, it means that everyone will be driving hard and looking for the checkered flag!
With no points on the line, drivers will abandon their first instincts, likely throw affiliations out the window, and simply enjoy themselves as they race for seven figures. Naturally, in a race involving reckless abandon in search of a victory, Kyle Busch is the favorite on NASCAR lines and NASCAR odds. There is simply nobody else in NASCAR about whom one can say: “He can win absolutely anywhere.” Regardless of the track or vehicle he is driving, Busch is capable of nabbing the checkered flag every weekend.
Some nice sports betting value as well, considering that he has won three championships in a row.
All-star week also includes many wild cards who are racing for a bigger reason—funding their team! Fan voting will determine another entrant into the race (outside of the 22 already confirmed participants), and the logical choice will be rookie Joey Logano. Logano is coming off a terrific performance at Darlington, and a race like this may be exactly what he needs to turn his inaugural season around.
