NASCAR - Emory Healthcare 500
by BetUS Staff

After taking a break last weekend, the NASCAR betting as drivers continue to try and earn valuable points in the standings down the stretch.
Sunday - Emory Healthcare 500, Atlanta Motor Speedway (ESPN, 7:30 p.m. ET)
Jimmie Johnson (+500) enters the race as the betting favorite. Currently mired in a slump with only one top-10 finish in his last seven races, Johnson will try to regain his top form in September. Johnson has two top-10 finishes at this track in his last five races here, and won both races at this track in 2007.
Both Kurt Busch (+700) and Kyle Busch (+900) have had their share of success in the past five Cup races at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Kurt won two of the last three races at this track, including the first this season back in March. In 2008, Kyle won the first event at this track, and finished in the top five in the other. Kyle Busch is also coming fresh off a win in the Sprint Cup Series’ most recent race at Bristol.
Current points leader Kevin Harvick (+700) has four top-10 finishes in the last five races at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, including two top-five finishes in the last three. Currently leading the Sprint Cup Series in top-10 finishes (16) and top-five finishes (11), Harvick seems very likely to be involved down the stretch.
While Kasey Kahne (+900) currently finds himself on the outside looking in of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, the Atlanta Motor Speedway could be where he picks up some points. Kahne finished fourth in the first race at this track in March, and he won this event in 2009. Kahne has six top-five finishes at this track in 13 career races here.
Denny Hamlin (+1000) is currently tied with Jimmie Johnson for the Sprint Cup Series lead in wins with five this season. To get to six, he’ll have to earn his first career win at Atlanta, where he has three top-10 finishes in 10 career races.
Jeff Gordon (+1000), Carl Edwards (+1000), and Tony Stewart (+1000) are all looking for their first win of the 2010 season this Sunday night. All three have earned wins in the past at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Gordon has four wins here (2003, 1999, 1998, and 1995), Edwards has three (2008 and two in 2005), and Stewart has two (2006 and 2002).
