NASCAR Vegas Shelby 427 - Kenseth Goes for Three Straight

Bookmark and Share by Corey E

After a slightly disappointing Daytona 500, fans were treated to a thrilling NASCAR betting season. Daytona and Fontana are two different animals—the former favors patient drivers who are capable of avoiding wrecks and staying off the wall, whereas Fontana is an aggressive driver's dream with its flat banking and smooth pavement. This week is another entirely different atmosphere, and in more ways than one: Las Vegas.

The Shelby 427 will be a great chance for those evaluating NASCAR picks, as the track is a hybrid course that can be run by virtually anyone. Vegas is a shorter track, which means that cars don't need quite as much horsepower on straightaways. One would think that this will allow teams other than Hendrick and Roush Racing to contend.

Let's take a look at some early favorites on NASCAR lines as we prepare for the third race of the year!

Matt Kenseth

Always thought of as a consistent driver for his ability to place well and stay in contention for the Chase for the Cup at season's end, Kenseth has given new meaning to his consistency. Amazingly, after winning the Daytona 500 on a track very much suited to his skills as a patient driver, Kenseth turned it on and raced his way to a second consecutive victory at the Auto Club 500 in California. How can you bet against him this week? Speaking of back to back victories, the man behind the No. 17 car won back to back races in Vegas in 2003 and 2004 as well, so he certainly knows how to find the checkered flag in Sin City.

Kyle Busch

The theme seems to be back to back wins in this article, and “Rowdy” fits right into this trend. Busch took the checkered flag in the Camping World Truck Series race, and the Nationwide Series race last weekend, but came up short in his quest for an unprecedented clean sweep at the Auto Club. While this track is a hybrid, it still very much favors drivers who are willing to take a shot. Nobody drives aggressively better than Kyle Busch, and nobody is handling a car better than him right now, either. Take a shot with the youngster, because he has a great chance of winning every time the green flag drops.

Mark Martin

As far as “Top 3” NASCAR betting (which is available on the BetUS Sportsbook) is concerned, there may be no better driver to select this weekend than Mark Martin. The elder statesman of the racing world won the very first race in Vegas, and has nine Top 10 finishes in 10 attempts ever since. It doesn't get any safer than that, so when you're evaluating NASCAR lines, be sure to click on Mark Martin before Sunday.
