NASCAR Power Rankings - Kenseth is HOT

Kenseth Might be This Year’s Kyle Busch
Sometimes NASCAR drivers get hot. That might be the case with Matt Kenseth who won his second race in a row. Staying hot is another matter.
Kenseth has suddenly become the new darling of NASCAR after taking home the Auto Club 500 at +1000.
Let’s take a look at the rankings.
NASCAR Power Rankings
- Matt Kenseth - - Kenseth is tops after two victories in a row. Now’s the time to lay-off because getting double-digits on this guy in this weekend’s race is going to be impossible.
- Jeff Gordon - - At +800 Jeff was a bigger long shot in the Auto Club 500 than both Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson. He almost pulled off the victory. If anything, it shows that Gordon is back and will be a force this season.
- Kurt Busch - - At odds of +1500, the elder Busch actually did very well when finishing fifth. The reason he is ranked higher than his brother is because he had a nice Daytona 500 run to go along with his Auto Club 500 run.
- Tony Stewart - - The odds on Smoke were +4000. What did he do? He finished in the top ten for the second race in a row. Smoke is driving with much more clarity than last season. He could be a top ten guy in almost every race this season.
- Kyle Busch - - Kyle was going off at +500 in the sportsbook to win the Auto Club 500. He finished third which means they solved whatever issues were ailing them at Daytona.
- Carl Edwards - - Edwards garnered a top ten finish after a terrible Daytona 500 but he didn’t win the race. Roush Racing is expecting more from Carl who at +600 finished 7th in the Auto Club 500.
- Jimmie Johnson - - The champ actually did very well in the Auto Club 500 to finish 9th at odds of +300. The odds on Jimmie should start rising which means he will soon become a very good bet.
- Greg Biffle - - At +1000 Biffle did enough to finish 4th. He’s giving every indication that he’s going to have a fantastic season.
- Denny Hamlin - - Hamlin was tired of hearing all of the talk about Kyle Busch and decided to make a run of his own in the Auto Club 500. He didn’t get to his teammate but the run was good enough for a 6th place finish at +1800.
- Juan Pablo Montoya - - Did Montoya do enough to crack the top ten? Well, he did finish 11th at odds of +6000. Montoya has now finished 14th and 11th respectively in his last two races. Is he getting better? I think so!
