Daytona 500 Top 3 Betting

Bookmark and Share by Corey E

NASCAR betting, and especially BetUS Sportsbook offers up Top 3 betting for all races, which can make the task of picking the successful racers a tad easier, and improve your odds of starting the racing season with a few extra dollars in your pocket.

With that being said, let's narrow it down for those evaluating Daytona 500 odds, and profile three strong bets for a Top 3 finish at the Great American Race!

Martin Truex Jr. +800

One of the hottest young drivers on the circuit, and he won the pole last week for the Budweiser Shootout, meaning you can guarantee that he has a strong car and knowledge of the course at Daytona. He's a proven winner at lower levels, having won the 2004 and 2005 Nationwide championship, meaning he knows how to race with the lead—which he'll have the luxury of, having won the pole for the 500 as well. The recent merge of DEI and Ganassi Racing will only improve the support system around Truex Jr., which could spell a breakout year in the #1 car.

Ryan Newman +800

Change of scenery seems to be the theme here. Newman was involved in a messy fallout with Penske Racing, despite winning the Daytona 500 last year. The newest member of Stewart-Haas Racing is one of the most intelligent drivers in all of NASCAR, and in fact, the only active racer with a college degree. Said intelligence has always kept him in races, and in championship contention even when the condition of his car is not favorable. What better way to stick it to your old boss than to turn in another great showing at the biggest race of the year? He might be the most motivated racer on the track on Sunday, and I wouldn't bet against him!

Mark Martin +500

No doubt the sentimental favorite to take the checkered this weekend, NASCAR's elder statesman comes in with a new look as well. After essentially racing part-time for DEI last season, the living legend bounced over to Hendrick Motorsports, seemingly for one last run at the championship that has eluded him his entire career. Martin had a wicked car for the Budweiser Shootout to say the least, and you can bet that the money and the powers that be at Hendrick will be investing their time in giving Martin a shot at that crown.
