NBA Betting Insider - Hottest and Coldest Teams ATS

Bookmark and Share by Eric Williams

A ton of NBA teams are struggling to cover the NBA point spread as the 2009-10 NBA regular season moves into its fourth month.

No matter.

NBA pro basketball gamblers will get some assistance in their search to find the teams that are offering the most value in their matchups with this week’s NBA hot or not list.

Hot teams have covered the NBA point spread in at least four of five, while ‘cold’ ATS teams have done the polar opposite.

With a thrilling slate of NBA action taking place in the NBA sportsbook tonight, let’s get busy.

Hot

Milwaukee 5-0 ATS

The Bucks have won three of its last four games and four of six, while going a league-best 7-0 ATS over their last seven games and 8-1 ATS over the last nine overall. The Bucks have upcoming games against the Heat, Magic, Knicks and Pacers and Pistons so expecting some more ATS wins out of the Bucks over the next five games looks like a solid possibility right now.

Chicago 5-0 ATS

The Bulls have recorded five straight quality wins over Western Conference ballclubs while covering the spread each time out. Upcoming games against the Clippers and Sixers tell me the Bulls should be a solid team to bet on this week.

Toronto 4-1 ATS

The Raptors have been playing some very good basketball for the better part of the last month and have won five straight games heading into week 15 while cover the NBA moneyline in four straight and seven of nine overall. Toronto faces Indiana, New Jersey and Sacramento this week, so look for the Raptors to cash in at least twice I suspect.

Utah 4-1 ATS

The Utah Jazz have won five consecutive games and nine of 10 while going a blistering 8-1-1 ATS over the last 10 games overall. I expect the Jazz to be hard-pressed to cash in this week with games against Dallas, Portland and Denver looming.

New Orleans 4-1 ATS

The Hornets have won five of its last seven games while covering the spread in four of five heading into the new week. New Orleans faces Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia at home this week before finishing up at Charlotte.

Not

Boston 1-4 ATS

The Celtics might be legitimate title contenders, but they sure haven’t looked the part lately. The Celtics have dropped three straight and six of eight overall while going a bankroll-busting 2-7-1 ATS over the last 10 games. Boston could get better in a hurry with upcoming games against Washington, Miami and New Jersey.

Dallas 1-4 ATS

The Mavs are another title contender that has been just awful against the spread recently. Dallas has lost two straight and three of five while failing to cover the NBA moneyline in three straight and eight of its last 10 games overall.

Washington 1-4 ATS

The Wizards have won two straight heading into Monday after dropping their previous four games and snapped a four-game ATS skid in their last contest. With upcoming games against Boston, Orlando Atlanta and Charlotte, I expect Washington to continue its ATS futility.

Indiana 1-4 ATS

Whether the Pacers have all-star forward Danny Granger or not, they just can’t seem to find any consistency this season. Indiana has lost three straight and seven of nine heading into Monday while going 1-4 ATS over the last five and just 3-6 ATS over their last nine games overall.

Philadelphia 1-4 ATS

The Sixers have gone 3-5 SU over their last eight games but have failed to cash in for backers in four straight games heading into the new week while going 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Sixers play the Bulls, Hornets and Rockets this coming week.

New York 1-4 ATS

The Knicks have lost three straight games and five of six overall heading into week 15 while going an identical 1-5 ATS during the stretch. New York hosts Washington and Milwaukee before hitting the road to play Cleveland this week.

Sacramento 1-4 ATS

The Kings are reeling NBA betting fans. Sacramento has lost two straight games and nine of 10 overall while going 1-5 ATS over the last six games and 2-8 ATS over its last 10 games overall. Sacramento could be in more trouble this week with games against Denver, San Antonio, Phoenix and Toronto.

Detroit 0-5 ATS

The perplexing Pistons have lost five straight games and six of seven heading into the new week while failing to cover the NBA money line in each SU loss. Despite their recent struggles, Detroit looks like a good team to wager on this coming week with upcoming contests against New Jersey (twice) and Indiana.

Houston 0-5 ATS

The Rockets have lost four of five while failing to cover the NBA point spread in five straight and nine of 10 overall. Houston plays Golden State, Memphis, Philly and Miami this week.
