NBA Betting Power Rankings: Jazz Play Their Way to the Top
The Houston Rockets.
The BetUS Sportsbook NBA Power Rankings.
Let’s take a look at the rankings.
NBA Power Rankings
- Utah Jazz 33-27 ATS - - Utah’s overall against the spread record isn’t amazing, but in their last ten games they have gone 9 and 1 straight-up and 8 and 2 ATS. They are the chief competitor to the Lakers in the Western Conference and have become the best NBA team for gamblers in the second half of the season.
- Cleveland Cavaliers 38-20 ATS - - Steady Cleveland wasn’t perfect last week with a straight-up loss to Houston and an ATS loss to both Houston and Atlanta, but they’ve continued to win and the victory at San Antonio straight-up and against the spread means they are still a viable betting team.
- Houston Rockets 28-31-1 ATS - - The loss to the Chicago Bulls on the road was their only blemish in a fantastic week where they beat Cleveland straight-up and against the spread. The Rockets are on fire. A Tuesday showdown versus the Jazz looms.
- Los Angeles Lakers 31-29 ATS - - The Lakers absolutely dominated Phoenix last Thursday but then laid an egg against the Suns this past Sunday. What’s going on? On Friday night, the Lakers looked like bums against Denver. Two losses in a row both straight-up and against the spread after a terrific run means they drop in the Power Rankings.
- Detroit ATS last week and needed a low spread, 3 points, in order to cover versus the New York Knicks.
- Portland on the road by 18 points, isn’t anything to be proud of.
- Oklahoma City Thunders 36-22 ATS - - The Thunder continue to be very consistent. They did lose two games in a row against the spread but bounced back with two straight victories ATS to close out the week. One of those wins ATS, a straight-up loss to the Mavericks in overtime, signaled to some gamblers that this team is getting much better.
- Portland Trailblazers 30-28 ATS - - They’ve gone 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 games and 5 and 2 straight-up in their last 7 games. This team is starting to heat up, like Houston and like Utah, which means the Lakers won’t coast in the playoffs this year.
- Charlotte Bobcats 35-25 ATS - - They lost three games in a row straight-up and against the spread before bouncing back with 3 straight-up and ATS victories against the Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers. Sure, that’s not a 3 game stretch against some talent laden teams, but the Bobcats did win ATS and straight-up in all three.
- Boston Celtics 33-28 ATS - - Kevin Garnett is injured which is the excuse but going 0-3 against the spread and 1-2 straight-up against the Clippers, Indiana and Detroit, is almost unforgivable.
