NBA Betting - NBA’s Hottest Teams ATS
The NBA sports betting season is now a month-plus out of the All Star break at BetUS Sportsbook, and the following teams have been red hot for NBA bettors over the last week of action:
(RANK) (TEAM) (SU RECORD) (ATS RECORD) (ATS RECORD L/5 +$$)
1) Atlanta Hawks (40-28) (38-30 ATS) (5-0 ATS L/5 +$500): The Hawks St. Patrick’s Day beat down of the Sacramento Kings, 119-97, ran their SU & ATS winning streak to six straight games. Their recent play now finds them comfortably positioned in the 4th seed of the Eastern Conference standings, and they could catch up to the conference big boys if they continue their stellar play. Outscoring their opposition by a 101.4-87.2 average their L/5 games, the Hawks are simply getting it done. The 101+ scored on offense is 3+ points higher than their seasonal average of 98.4 PPG, and the 87+ allowed is nearly 10 points better than their seasonal average of 96.4 PPG. This club seems to be finding its late season swagger, and that doesn’t bode well for the remainder of the conference in the playoffs. That said; the schedule takes a turn for the worse with just one of their next five games slated to go against a sub .500 opponent (Minnesota). They’ll look to continue their stellar play against Dallas next who currently holds the 8th and final playoff seed in the West before locking horns with Cleveland, San Antonio, and Boston.
2) Chicago Bulls (31-37) (35-32-1 ATS) (4-1 ATS L/5 +$290): The Bulls clawed closer to respectability in their L/5 games by winning two of them SU and cashing NBA bettors tickets in four of the five games played. They suffered tough losses against the Miami Heat (127-130 OT) and Philadelphia 76ers (101-104), but rebounded with a pair of outright wins as home underdogs against the New Orleans Hornets (97-79) and struggling Boston Celtics (127-121). They’re recent play now finds them in the 8th and final spot of the Eastern Conference for the post-season, but they don’t have much breathing room with the Milwaukee Bucks hot on their trail. The newly acquired John Salmons has been excellent for the new look Bulls. He dropped 38 on the Celtics their last time out, and certainly looks to be the consistent scorer GM John Paxson has desired for many years. The Bulls will look to build upon their current 7-3 ATS run with games slated to go at Oklahoma City, at home vs. Kobe and the Lakers, at Washington, and then back at home against Detroit and Miami to close out the week.
3) Orlando Magic (49-18) (43-23-1 ATS) (4-1 ATS L/5 +$290): Don’t look now, but Orlando looks to have rediscovered its earlier season “magic” and has started covering NBA bettors tickets once again. They’ve gotten the job done in seven of their L/10; most recently covering the 6.5-point spread at Cleveland in a game they only lost by four with All Star center Dwight Howard having an off night scoring just 13 points. Rafer Alston has settled in nicely for the injured Jameer Nelson scoring double-digits in each of the Magic’s L/4 games played, but the improved play is mostly attributable to the team’s defense that allowed opponents an average of just 92.8 PPG their L/5. The Magic will play a huge role in the Eastern Conference Playoff seedings over the next week with two games slated to go against Milwaukee (chasing the #8 seed), and two against Boston who’s chasing Cleveland for the top seed. Chicago and Cleveland will be semi-Orlando fans this week….
And the rest….
4) Golden State Warriors (24-43) (30-33-3 ATS) (4-1 ATS L/5 +$290)
5) New York Knicks (28-38) (38-27-1 ATS) (4-1 ATS L/5 +$290)
6) Oklahoma City Thunder (19-48) (41-24-1 ATS) (4-1 ATS L/5 +$290)
7) Portland Trailblazers (42-25) (33-33 ATS) (4-1 ATS L/5 +$290)
