NBA Week 18 Betting Trends – The Hottest and Coldest ATS Teams in the League

Okay pro basketball betting enthusiasts, with the annual NBA trade deadline now a thing of the past and teams across the league gearing up to make strong regular season finishes after upgrading their respective rosters, this look at the hottest and coldest teams in the league heading in the final week of February, is guaranteed to point nba betting fanatics in the right direction toward making a week’s worth of winning wagers in the bettor-friendly sportsbook.
With several games on tap for tonight, followed by a full slate of NBA action on Tuesday night, let me get started.
Hot
These teams have covered the NBA moneyline in four of the last five games.
Washington Wizards 5-0 ATS
The new-look Wizards have played very hard since moving Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison, winning three of its last five while covering the spread in five consecutive games. Washington hosts Chicago, Memphis and New York this week before finishing up at New Jersey.
Miami Heat 5-0 ATS
The Miami Heat may be playing without Dwyane Wade, but the mostly mediocre ballclub has turned up the level of its play recently, winning five straight games before falling at Dallas on Saturday. Miami has covered the NBA money line in two straight games and five of its last six overall.
New Orleans Hornets 4-1 ATS
New Orleans may be without all-star point guard Chris Paul, but young Darren Collison is proving to be more than a capable backup these days. The Hornets have won two straight and three of five heading into Monday while cashing in for pro basketball betting backers in two straight and five of its last six games. Unfortunately, the Hornets will hit the road to face a ticked-off Cleveland squad on Tuesday before playing at Milwaukee, home against Orlando and finishing out the week at Dallas.
Golden State Warriors 4-1 ATS
The Warriors have gone 3-2 SU while alternating wins and losses over their last five games and posting a respectable 4-1 ATS mark during the stretch. The Warriors may rank 30th in team defense, but their third-ranked offense keeps producing paydays for gamblers just as I predicted early in the regular season. The Warriors host Philadelphia, Denver and Detroit this week.
Utah Jazz 4-1 ATS
The Jazz are the hottest team in either conference right now, having won and covered the nba betting odds in four straight games while going 9-1 SU and a bankroll-boosting 7-2-1 ATS over the last 10 games overall. The Jazz have home dates against Atlanta, Charlotte and Houston this week and one road matchup at Sacramento.
Chicago Bulls 4-1 ATS
Chicago traded away veteran swingman John Salmons and moved underachieving, but gifted forward Tyrus Thomas and have won four straight games, including a blowout of Philadelphia in its last contest, with its more well-balanced lineup heading into Monday night. The Bulls have gone 4-0 SU and ATS over its last four while also going 6-1 SU and ATS over the last seven games overall. Chicago faces Washington, Indiana (twice) and Portland this coming week.
Not
These teams have failed to cover the NBA point spread in four of the last five games.
Cleveland Cavaliers 1-4 ATS
The Cavaliers may be the odds-on-favorite to reach the NBA Finals in the Eastern Conference right now, but they’ve lost three straight games heading into Monday night following their 13-game winning streak and have failed to cover the spread in three straight and five of the last six games overall. The Cavs face New Orleans, Boston and Toronto this coming week.
L.A. Clippers 1-4 ATS
The sad-sack Clippers snapped a six-game SU and five-game ATS losing streak on Saturday by beating the Sacramento Kings 99-89 as a 1-point home favorite. The Clippers face Charlotte, Detroit, Phoenix and Sacramento this week.
Houston Rockets 1-4 ATS
The Rockets have lost two straight and five of six while failing to cover the spread in every single loss. Upcoming dates against Orlando, San Antonio and Utah this week do not bode well.
San Antonio Spurs 1-4 ATS
The Spurs have lost two straight and three of five while failing to cover the NBA money line in three consecutive games while going 1-4 ATS over the last five and 2-7 ATS over the last nine games overall. Arguably the most disappointing team in the league this season, the Spurs play Oklahoma City, Houston and Phoenix this week and things aren’t looking very good at all for Tim Duncan and Co.
Charlotte Bobcats 1-4 ATS
The Bobcats have lost two of its last three games and five of eight overall while going a dismal 1-5 ATS over the last six games. The Bobcats are on the road this week to face the Clippers, Jazz and Grizzlies.
