2018 NBA All-Star Weekend

From the Staples Center in Los Angeles this weekend, the best basketball players on the planet will get together for NBA All-Star weekend. Team LeBron takes on Team Steph in Sunday's All-Star Game. Before that, basketball (and betting) fans are treated to the NBA's All-Star Saturday. Bet on the Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest and the Slam Dunk contest to prep yourself for Sunday's star-studded throwdown.

Skills Challenge:
The Skills Challange is a wide variety of skills, dribbling, passing and shooting. I'm going with the best player in this group: Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers. We have seen the big man do pretty much everything in his short time in the NBA. He's a great pick to win the skills competition. In the spirit of the ongoing Olympics, the silver for us would go to Andre Drummond of Detroit and the bronze to Al Horford of Boston.

3-Point Contest:
This is one of the most exciting events for many reasons. It draws big name stars, it's exciting, and the rules are clear. Eight of the top three point shooters in the NBA will chuck shots from the arch. The Golden State Warriors duo of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson have had success in this event before, and Klay is back at it. Klay is our gold medal winner with our early predictions. Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets has shown the ability to shoot the ball as the Houston Rocket's 6th man. Bradley Beal is a straight shooter out of Washington. Those are our Top 3 for the NBA All Star Saturday Three Point Competition.

Slam Dunk Contest:
Just four competitors here. Obviously, for many years, people have turned to the Slam Dunk Contest to see some high flyers. Dennis Smith Jr of the Dallas Mavericks is very intriguing, as he is new to the league, and has some some great athleticism early in his career. He is our winner in this contest, but the high flying Victor Oladipo is a solid second choice.

There is a look at the NBA All Star Saturday activities. It should be a great weekend for the NBA. I don't know about you, but I'm excited for Saturday's events and Sunday's All-Star Game. Don't forget to check out Friday's Celebrity Game and Rising Stars.
