NBA Basketball Odds – Hornets Look to Sting Bulls

While the New Orleans Hornets, (44-21 SU, 39-25-1 ATS, 31-33-1 O/U), have been, arguably, the best feel-good story of the season, with their stellar play against nearly every opponent they’ve faced this season.

While the Bulls maintain their slim hopes for reaching the playoffs in the eastern conference, just 1 1/2 games behind the Houston Rockets, know they can’t afford many slip-ups down the stretch in the tight western conference postseason race.

Both teams enter tonight’s contest coming off losses in the BetUS.com Sportsbook as the Bulls fell to the Detroit Pistons 105-84 on Sunday.

All-star point guard Chris Paul played nearly 40 minutes, finishing with 14 points and 14 assists all on an ailing ankle.

“I definitely couldn’t attack like I wanted to,” said Paul. “But that’s no excuse. I felt as long as I was out on the court, I could help our team.”

The Bulls have dropped three of four and just can’t seem to fix the same problems that have plagued them all season long.

“It’s like we got caught in quicksand in the fourth quarter,” said Bulls forward Drew Gooden.

The Bulls are just 4-6 in their last ten games and have just one win in their last eight road games.

Chicago has gone 6-4 against the spread in their last ten and 2-1 against the spread in their last three while the Hornets are an impressive 7-3 against the spread in their last ten.

Here is a look at tonight’s Key Trends, followed by my analysis and NBA Betting Picks.

The Bulls are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 vs. Western Conference.

The Bulls are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. NBA Southwest.

The Hornets are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games.

The Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

The Over is 5-1 in Bulls last 6 games playing on 2 days rest.

The Over is 5-1 in Hornets last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

The Favorite is 4-0-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

The Over is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings in New Orleans.

Analysis: This pick is an absolute ‘no-brainer’ as the Hornets will win this game and win it handily.
